Wow.... May already!
And look what I found right outside our front door ~
a big ol' Magnolia blossom!!
They really are so beautiful.
AND I've gone nuts again.
I had to make two sachets for someone...what did I cut out?
FIVE.
I also have an order for six needle books...what did I cut out?
TWENTY-FOUR!!
I just have some wonderful components to make
these little jewels so I figure
I should go ahead and make a few extra!
I always dig through my lace stash and press the pieces that I think will work
here or there...then I have to play and switch laces around ~
I want them each to have a different personality.
And here is the mess of lace I dig in, mess being the key word!
I still want to organize this ~ one day.
OH! And look what I ran across in my studio the other day...
A few years ago I wanted to learn how to punch needle embroider!
And I did...and for the life of me, I can't remember how I did it either ~
I bought one lone pattern,
the punch needle tool,
embroidery thread
and got started!
Here's my finished piece!
It's as tiny as can be but feels like a small hooked rug.
You actually work on it from the back
(I do remember that much!)
I guess I need to pop it in a frame or something ~
it seems sad to just keep it wadded up in the case
I keep the thread in.
Oh well, maybe I could watch a YouTube video or something to refresh
my memory ~ I do remember I enjoyed making it :)
But for now, I've got to get these things finished on my desk ~
I already have an art piece idea rolling around in my head
and want to work on it too!!
Happy Tuesday precious friends
and thank you so much for stopping by ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

Your needle books look so pretty, Dawn! I wish I could use one! The magnolia blossom is lovely ~ I broke down and went and got some plants yesterday. I need to see some flowers! I'll just keep my fingers crossed that no frost will be visiting us.
Your little punch needle project would look cute as a mini sachet...
And I have a little 3 drawer plastic thingy full of tangled laces. I know what you mean about the creative messes!
These are turning out so pretty! Love the little needle punch motif, you should make a piece of artwork around it, so delicate!
Have a great day!
Dawn those look so pretty!! You are cracking me up with your lace!! I have mine poured out all over the floor in my workroom because I just have to dig ~ There is no way that I would ever ever be able to organize it all neat and tidy because it would last a minute ~
So much talent at your house dear friend! I love seeing what you are making and YES it is always something GORGEOUS! Enjoy this beautiful day, HUGS!
Beautiful assortments. Love all the laces and I laughed when I read about the punch needle...I've 2 sets sitting I can't thread the needle, da. Glad to see your finished piece.
I love all your bits and pieces of lace that you work into some enchanting pieces. Your work is lovely.
You definitely need to do something with that little "rug" piece. It is way too cute to hide away. xo Diana
Oh Dawn I love the needle books! I don't think I could choose just one! And that pile of lace... I don't think I would fuss about a "MESS" like that! Cindy &I arrived in California this morning EARLY & have had so much fun!!!!! HUGS! Charlene
Now that is a very happy "mess" of laces. Your needlebooks are gorgeous and I think you are very smart to make several (dozen) at a time. Your little punch needle piece should definitely be out where you can enjoy it...so sweet. Lovely Magnolia blossom. Marvelous May Dear...

Dawn, Sweet projects! Your punch needle one reminds me of the tiny needlepoint I almost finished 30 years ago. It shows up now and then to remind me. I could probably figure it out if I tried. Hoping to teach myself to crochet one of these days too.
Hugs,
Sherry
