Looking for beauty...

It's funny what I find beautiful now...you know, at my age :)
I used to think everything had to be pristine, perfect and elegant to be beautiful ~
and without blemish or flaw....
Now, I feel so differently about beauty.

Beauty is simple really...you can find it in everyday, ordinary things ~

Yes, gorgeous old paintings are beautiful.

But rugged, dilapidated barns with a rusty old tractor inside are beautiful too.

A rotten old fence with green moss and lichen is beautiful as well, don't you think?

I find so much that is beautiful now....is it my age?

Living probably more than half my life, I'm seeing things differently now.
Beauty is everywhere ~

It's in the common, everyday things.

Beauty is as simple as blemished, home grown pears in a brown transferware bowl.

Take the time to see the beauty around you today ~

Wishing you a wonderful Tuesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Your picture of the lichen and moss covered fence with all of the shades of green was so pretty. I felt like I was standing right there in front of it. And the mama squirrel carrying her baby made me smile. I think it is good for all of us to look for all of the beauty we can find in this world. I am sure that the more we look, the more we will find, and the happier we will be.

My sweet mama taught me to see the beauty in everything since I was little and I'm so grateful for that!

I am so grateful for all the beauty that is in this world. I see so much through the blogs I visit. Normal every day items people take for gran-it turn into art.

Beautiful pictures, Dawn! I think a lot of how we view things comes with age and we can really appreciate the beauty in different things.

Because you are beautiful inside and out, you see beauty everywhere.
Because you see beauty everywhere, you are beautiful inside and out. I hope that doesn't come across as a strange thing to say, but when I need a restful visit and some soothing to my spirit, one of the things I do is visit your beautiful blog.

Ohhhh, did you take all those shots? I really like the peek of the tractor through the barn boards and the railroad tracks. The squirrel carrying her "cub"? "kit"? I don't know...reminded me of the day I watched a squirrel mama ferry her babies up and down trees all over the place. She seemed restless.

So true and so beautifully said and illustrated, Dawn. You have a gift for seeing the beauty in life. At this moment, the most beautiful thing I am seeing is the sight of 2 of my grandchildren playing with their legos as they visit me today. It is also softly snowing outside, covering the dry grass in a blanket of white.
