Where Women Make a Mess ~

That's kind of how my studio is right now, just a big ol' mess!
And all I have to show for it are two lousy peat pots....
yep, I said the "p" word.

I do keep staring at this though, I think that must count for something :)

A few shots around...this first photo's not too bad,
just a crazy collection of goodies.

Need a peat pot? :)

I love these Mud Pie boxes I found at a yard sale ~
all for one buck.
I think "Hoarders" is at the door...I'll be right back.

Need a peat pot?

I am in the goofiest mood!

Like you've not seen this enough,
I'm just so proud of the Walnut Ink doing the trick staining this moss.
I just spray it on and let it dry...
plus I'd never used the stuff before and it's good to use
some of your stash, right?

Just a random shot of the sewing table...dried flowers?

And to finish off this fabuloso post....
sweet girl is livin' the life!!!!
Kicked back watching Yo Gabba Gabba!

Oh, and did you know...
This gorgeous shot is of Rebecca of Vintage Living's
former store???!!!!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday dear friends!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Great title!! and it surely must describe most of us. I can't believe very many of us can create without making a mess.

Hey I think you've got a new magazine title here! LOL

Hey, Hoarders just left my place and they said to let you know they're in their way..and Ill take being a creative G-Ma anyday over being a old-does-nothing-all-day-but-watch-soap-operas GrandMa! You're teaching Clara to love the creative side of herself..good for YOU!

Love this Dawn - especially the title! Just perfect for my room - what a mess! I will have to do a major clean up before I can participate in the event - oh dear!

Love your goodies - don't worry - Hoarders wont be at your house until after they leave mine!

I just find your place so very inspirative, and full of beauty, even when messed up a bit---so you just enjoy, like Clare.......

Many love and huggs from me.

Dawn you are funny. That will be title of my book not the other one. It's called creative chaos and it works for some of us. The clean up, that is another story. Can you find your stuff? I can't, many times so I opt for the easy way out, go to the store and buy more. Not good, I know. My husband pay me a compliment the other day, sort of. This is how it went" You are so talented, you can decorate and make great things BUT...You are the most disorganized person I have ever met" Arg, but he is right. God help us. Blessings, Marta.

I was just thinking about cleaning up my studio/office today. Maybe not but it is hard to create when it's so messy. I hate you are struggling with your "p-p". I hate when that happens. Do something else first and then come back to them. Sometimes that helps. I have these wooden birds I have remodeled at least 3 times and I still am not happy with them. They are in a drawer. Hey maybe you could get your blogland friends to make a "p-p" of their own and something would inspire you. Just a thought- sometimes you need a good brainstorm with no limits. ;-)

SO funny Dawn, If Where Women Make a Mess was a magazine, I might get published! I have to make a mess to be creative, is there another way? Thanks for the smiles today, Love, Penny

Hi Dawn,
Getting ready for Glitterfest has made my studio such a mess that I can not even bring myself to take a photo! There is not one square inch of my large table free to work on. So today it all gets picked up because enough is enough. If it is not made by today it is not going with me! RIGHT! I always say that.

Anyway I loved this "goofy" post and it made me feel much better about my mess! I have lots to do before WBC.

Great title!! So true of so many....as all the comments show!
All I can say is "my mess is bigger than your mess!".

P.S. Mis Clara ~ is there room on that bear for me?

Vee said...

Well, my friend, at least you have a pot to peat in! LOL! I'm in a ridiculous mood, too. Must be all these torrents of rain. Loved your title and had to come see the mess except you skillfully didn't show us any. Now join Clara on the floor and have some different kind of fun!

Anyway, I think your mess is quite inspiring. And yes, I COULD use a peat pot, now that ya mention it!

Dawn,
Girl, I'm laughing my butt off. The 'P'word, oh Noooo not again. LOL I think you have inhaled too much walnut ink. Dennis is going to come home & see you spraying the weeds in the garden with walnut ink! We might just have to have a double feature Hoarder's episode. My junk is piling up too. Clara looks like such an angel. PS Don't let her watch Callou. Lisa

Oh Dawn, I can relate. My grandson Vincent, 2yrs., loves YoGabbaGabba! I should be working in my crocheting and gluebook but Yo gets alot of my time. Your craft area looks just fine to me. p.s. I've bought some peat pots too and they are still in the Menards bag. Smiles, Sally

Want a peat pot? Funny. I too have a stack of them waiting for me to be able to get to them (when the mess is cleared out). I can send you some if you don't have enough. LOL

Dawn, looks like you've got some good projects in the works. My son called me a "hoarder" this weekend, just because I made him pick up a drawer unit on the side of the road that had a sign marked "free" on it! It really hurt my feelings when he said it too. (Not really!) I was thinking it the whole time I was shoving it in the truck!

You are one funny lady! Love your humor.

All the lovely messes are for inspiration. I've started looking at things differently since reading your fabulous blog. Your pictures make art out of any subject. (This is no small feat, given my efforts are still photos of messes.)But, in true-to-you-style, I took a picture of my husband's laundry hanging in the basement. Beautiful colors - soft beige, sage, soft deep green, cream, and light pink, and on top of that, lots of textures.

The eyes that saw that were taught by you. Thank you for my beautiful new world!
