Any advice?

I just acquired a very old doll and wanted find out if anyone knows anything at all about her, is she junk? Her arms are not proportioned right for her head and body. She's in pretty rough condition, stuffed with straw, cracked, smallish arms and stuffed legs BUT the look on her face, I can only imagine how beautiful she must have been brand new. Is she trash or treasure?? What a sweet smile....

Dawn,
I LOVE this gal!! A treasure indeed....You should make a couple of bird's to nest among her open straw body and diplay it just as is.....I don't know much about her. Are there any markings on the back of her shoulderplate? I have a similar doll head..

Definitely a treasure! Give her some of your magic - pretty handmade clothes, and she'll be the belle of the baby-ball! =)

Such a beautiful doll ~ especially with the exposed stuffing. Reading through your comments, I love Michelle's idea of "making a couple of birds nests among the straw".

I'd say "treasure" ..it is not very often that you find one stuffed with straw and with such character. I could defintely see her set up with some more primitive items to keep her company... She definitely has a charm.

Hello!! I love her! I read that you are close to Atlanta--and I know that there is a woman who restores these. She does an excellent job. I believe she's called the Doll Doctor....it's been a long time since I met her, but I am sure she was in Atlanta. The doll is probably worth being restored. But, she's also gorgeous as she is.
