I just acquired a very old doll and wanted find out if anyone knows anything at all about her, is she junk? Her arms are not proportioned right for her head and body. She's in pretty rough condition, stuffed with straw, cracked, smallish arms and stuffed legs BUT the look on her face, I can only imagine how beautiful she must have been brand new. Is she trash or treasure?? What a sweet smile....
Hi Dawn. I know nothing about old dolls, but this one is perfect to me. WOW! What a find. I would sit her just as she is in on my mantel. Stuffed with straw, wow. Maybe if you dig deeper you might just find some cash in there.LOL Anyway hope your having a great evening. Oh and I am loving those pictures of you home. It is lovely. Your killin me with all those clocks, yummy eye candy. take care, Becky
"Love that precious dolly!!" I tend to agree with everyone else...display it just as she is, she is so sweet like that!! Also, I had to laugh at Becky's comment...mmm..maybe there is hidden treasures in there?
Dawn, I LOVE this gal!! A treasure indeed....You should make a couple of bird's to nest among her open straw body and diplay it just as is.....I don't know much about her. Are there any markings on the back of her shoulderplate? I have a similar doll head..
Hello, I am a real doll lover and yours is a real sweet heart ! She has her own unique beauty. Love her as she is. I love the pictures of your home, so pretty ! Blessings, Shelley My blog... journals.aol.com/shelleymb47/shelleysweetshabby/
Such a beautiful doll ~ especially with the exposed stuffing. Reading through your comments, I love Michelle's idea of "making a couple of birds nests among the straw".
I'd say "treasure" ..it is not very often that you find one stuffed with straw and with such character. I could defintely see her set up with some more primitive items to keep her company... She definitely has a charm.
Hello!! I love her! I read that you are close to Atlanta--and I know that there is a woman who restores these. She does an excellent job. I believe she's called the Doll Doctor....it's been a long time since I met her, but I am sure she was in Atlanta. The doll is probably worth being restored. But, she's also gorgeous as she is.
My name is Dawn Edmonson. I'm a wife for 42 years to the same wonderful man, mother to five amazing sons ranging in age from 40 to 25 years old and grandmother to three precious girls and two sweet boys.
I love to create one-of-a-kind artwork to sell in my Etsy shop. I enjoy keeping up with my blog and am amazed at the inspiration I get from others blogs and sweet comments that are left for me. I am drawn to all things old, with plenty of character and enjoy using small, antique trinkets in my artwork. Being able to create is truly my bliss.

You KNOW I love it. How wonderfully odd.

Definitely a treasure! Give her some of your magic - pretty handmade clothes, and she'll be the belle of the baby-ball! =)
What a treasure...she's adorable!
I think she's worth a million dollars, well maybe not, but she is a keeper. What a neat treasure!
