Sometimes all you need to do, is simply begin ~

Lately, I've been missing creating artwork...
By artwork
I mean assemblages, collages
and things like that.

Seems I got so caught up with sewing so many goodies
since the first of the year
which has been wonderful, don't get me wrong.
But I'm a weirdo in the fact that I love creating
something different all the time.

Well, the longer you go without doing a certain thing,
you begin to doubt yourself!
Or at least I do anyway.
I've been glancing through some of my photos of  past artwork
and have been slowing building my confidence to get back
into assemblage artwork.
I do love it so much!

So, my friends ~ the lesson for today is to:
simply begin.

The minute I started working on this beautiful clock case,
transforming the interior and getting ready
for the new treasures that I'll tuck inside...
I could feel that feeling again!!!
The interior has now been lined
with gorgeous old sheet music.

What treasures will it hold?
I'm not quite sure yet...we'll see!

Wishing you a wonderful, creative Wednesday dear friends!

hugs and love,

I haven't created art in such a long time! I miss it too but, you're right... If you step away you do doubt. Beautiful first step back!

In France we say "tout voyage commence par un premier pas" that I can translate as "each travel begins by a first step". and when something seems hard to do, I just think "only one step, before another one" and it's allows me to go on.
Love your idea with the partition.

Go girlfriend! I know you can do it since you've done it before. I even bought one of your beauties, which now sits in my art room. Remember Prairie Girl? Have a great day! XO Sue

Great piece, Dawn! I have a small clock that would make for a great little showcase of something. I just don't know what. I think you are off to a great start with the music sheet backing. You are right though. I should just start by taking out the clock part {which is broken} and I'm sure it will come together once I have more of blank slate to work with.

I don't have a lot of time to create in the summer so sometimes I get that lost feeling. Maybe I can start again soon...

I know whatever you make out of this that it will be beautiful!!

the clock with its new "wall paper" looks so wonderful, and I can imagine how beautiful it will look when finished in your gorgeous nature style! I have dayes too, when staring into the air, telling myself to start --just start ,lol-
So happy you started dear friend.
