Wow....2400 posts, are you kidding me?

I just noticed this!!!
I'm starting this post and look over at the number...
and it's my 2403rd post!!
WHAT?

My goodness....how amazing is THAT?
I really do still love it.
I know I don't post like I used to
but blogging has changed quite a bit in the past few years.

There are zillions of bloggers now and it's just not like it used to be.
Facebook is the hot thing because it's quick and to-the-point
but I still love my little blog.

And it seems that blogs now feel the need
to post a new DIY project
for each and every post....
and some of the ideas are just not that good!

I guess that I'm considered "old-school" now.
Simply sharing thoughts, photos and images and a few ideas.

But, I still love my little blog...
sharing my finds and what I'm doing ~
even if it's not very much!!

Here's the beautiful quilted fabric that I want to make
a few needle books from.
It's just one simple pillow sham I found a few years ago
at Marshall's I think.
But I can see them in my mind's eye...
Now, to actually MAKE them!

To those of you who have been with me from the beginning,
and for those of you who may have just found my blog...
I cherish you so much!
Thank you so much for visiting me here to see what I'm up to ~

I'm certainly hoping my creative muse will give me a swift kick soon
so I can get a few things finished and in my shop!

Happy weekend precious friends!
Remember to be kind to yourself...

Hugs and love,
Dawn

Hi Dawn. I know what you mean about all the blogs now. As you know I have only been part of this scene for 2 1/2 years, but I, for one, do not see Facebook as a substitute. I personally dislike Facebook and will never join...too much begging for friends, which strikes me as odd, and a lot of it I would deem as "anti-social networking". I have seen some really bad uses of it, along with the good, and choose to steer clear. I have been with you for a long time and will continue to read your blog. Keep on writing please! Hugs, Sue

Dedication Dawn. That's what you have. And don't discount it- I could never keep a blog going for more than a couple of months.

Congrats on this more than deserved goal, dear Dawn, I do know and follow you for little more than one year,(I'm a 'young blogger'!) but I have to say that your blog and your posts are always amazing, whatever is the topic you decide to talk about.
Thank you for beeing here.
With love and admiration
Dany

Well I certainly enjoy your blog...that is quite a milestone...I hope there are 2400 more! I love that fabric...I had a small doll quilt with pink roses on it that was very similar to yours. I couldn't think of what to do with it so I sold it. Seems like everytime you decide to pass something on you find a use for it after it's gone! Looking forward to seeing the needlebooks you make with your fabric.

Well congratulations Dawn for keeping it going this long. I think the feedback, comments and encouragement that our readers give us, keep us keepin on. Your blog is a delight to visit. What sweet images you've shared today. That quilted fabric with the tiny roses will be perfect for your darling needle books. I often re-purpose things like shams. Thanks for all you share here. Love Abby

Hello, Dawn
I know I don't often visit your blog, but I do so enjoy coming to see your lovely posts. This post is so very special with the vintage photos and the one verse about 'coming unto Me', always an inspiration to come to your blog.
Many smiles and a Happy New Year!

It's blogs like yours that make me look! There are so many blogs that try too hard and show nothing. Those who are concerned with statistics or choose money-making over conveying personal experience are not blogs I want to spend my time with. I would rather read one genuine post a month from someone who has something to say from the heart or show something new to make over reading a blog where someone thinks they must post 4 times a week and show 10 ways to display a vintage pillow. Many blogs lack substance, and it is those ones I don't sign up for. There are many that have turned commercial, and I unsubscribe from those. The kind that bother me most are the ones where I never learn about the person, but I can imagine them pawing through their stuff every chance they get. It's people like you who keep it real...genuine...authentic...personable. Best wishes on the next 2403 posts!

I love your little blog too.
I know the blogging world has changed but some things are perfect just the way they are... a constant in what otherwise can be a hectic life.
I can hardly wait to see what you make with the pillow sham.
I hope you enjoyed your birthday.

Dear Dawn, it is a joy to visit you here. In our hurry up, one size fits all world, it's a pleasure to come here, where someone else appreciates creativity, faith, and the company of other sweet souls. Tutorials and classes are fine, but I think it's more valuable to be able to meet with a good friend who is real, and caring, and inspiring. When I visit a blog, I want to feel refreshed, not exhausted. Thank you for staying true to yourself and inviting us into your life. Hugs, Terri.

The fabric is lovely, Dawn, like you. I haven't shared in many a moon. Have moved South and am enjoying being near my daughter and family and closer to my sons. With 15 grandchildren it seems I'm always mailing birthday presents. I'm doing some jewelry creating and an occasional mixed media book or card and have started a small Antique Mall booth so back to the yard sales! I still have my blog and am using Creative Commons Flickr photos to illustrate my Bible devotions. My Etsy shops are still open but I don't have enough time to work them. Come visit.
