I pulled up a post from a few years ago to share with you as I always,
always love to make you smile ~
As a child, Christmas was magical to me....
I remember the anticipation and excitement so vividly!
Just putting the tree up was the best thing EVER!!!
My parents would put on our Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Ray Coniff with his singers and
Johnny Mathis Christmas albums and I was transported to a whole different world.
And these were played on an old record player,
you know, the kind with the needle and turntable?
One beautiful memory I have is,
after the tree was decorated...
lights, ornaments and everything,
I would lie underneath the tree and just look up.
It was so beautiful....
At that moment, the magic of Christmas began for me ~
I found this precious photo of Clara when she was just a little baby...looking at the lights ~
She is absolutely LOVING Christmas this year!!!
Now, being three and a half, she is totally into Santa and all of the gifts ~
and she's also realizing that a little elf is watching her behavior and reporting to Santa!
We finally finished our Christmas shopping ~ a blessing and such an accomplishment!
I hope you have a beautiful Wednesday dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Hope that no one gets too manipulative with that whole reporting of behavior. It's a wonder children aren't nervous wrecks at Christmas. =D The sweetest of photos with Clara looking at the tree. I suppose that Murray is getting parked under one regularly, too. ☺
Awe.......... Love this post !!! Clara is beautiful.. I love Christmas and stories like these.. Love it .... Have a blessed Wednesday
My Jaxon is loving Christmas too this year....precious memories you hold...blessings to you and yours Dawn...Merry Christmas.
Ray Coniff!! My parents had all those albums as well -- Nat, Bing and Ray -- and we'd listen to those on the old turntable (interestinly, my husband has gone back to vinyl and we use our turntable all the time..no more CDs for us, except in the car!). The wonder of little children at this time of year -- it's magical!
Sweet Dawn, yes it is so magic to be with children that age, as Clara, and my Mathilde- still believing in santa, and elves, and wonderful adventures to take place- I wish I could remember some of my first christmasses, and the joy I have surely felled.
Tomorrow is packing day here for me, all gifts are to be packed lovely, and put away for christmas eve, where we celebrate here in Denmark.
I send you warm hugs and my love to you dearest.

Dawn,
Your post is so sweet. I too love to just soak up the lights on the tree. So magical and special. Merry Christmas dear blogger friend.
Kris
Wishing you a joyous Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Hi there dear friend! Memories are precious! Love that sweet picture of Clara:) Have a blessed week, HUGS!
Thank you, Dawn, for the lovely photos and Christmas images.
The older of my two granddaughters is 3 1/2, too, and she is also waaaay into Christmas this year. "Amazing" is her new favorite word to describe anything and everything to do with Santa, his elves, the Elf on the Shelf, the Christmas tree and decorations, etc., etc.! It's so sweet and precious... if only we could bottle it up and save it forever.♥
xoxo
