Found inspiration ~

I just love chandeliers ~ wouldn't this be gorgeous
printed on blank cards??

I came across a couple of magazines the other day that I just had to get ~ Romantic Homes always seems to hit the mark with me, elegant, beautiful and so inspiring!! I'm not subscribed to Country Living any longer as they were getting a little modern for me but I really love this latest Christmas issue so I had to indulge!! I used to buy so many magazines but it seems as though I'm not "hip" enough or something to enjoy most of them now, I just don't "do" mod.

I took a few photos of pages that I loved,
but if you run across them at the store
you can thumb through and see if you love them too ~

Something else I found was this gorgeous micro suede and faux sherpa fabric at Hobby Lobby! They had pink but I passed on it, this color was so beautiful ~ I've been wanting to make Clara some baby boots and thought this would be so cozy for her feet!!

This is the pattern I purchased at I Think Sew.com and I'm hoping I can figure out how to use this fabric with this pattern!

Here are a few photos of some finished boots that I ran across on Etsy.....SO CUTE!!!
We'll see if I can pull it off!

I'd love to make a hat and jacket too but I'll be lucky if I finish the boots!!

I hope you're staying cozy, it's really cold here in Georgia ~
Have a wonderful Thursday dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Dawn, I don't do modern either. The new looks aren't mine and I think a lot of other people feel the same way. I stopped my subscriptions to a couple of the "country" magazines that are no longer "country" in any way because they also have too many advertisements in them. I'd rather pay more and buy one of the Somerset publications and keep them forever. They're timeless! And inspiring and worth paying more.

I used to buy tons of magazines too but the styles have changed so much that I rarely find on I like anymore. Two peas in a pod, we are. The boots are going to be so cute! Have a sweet day!

I adore the little boots. I hope it goes well putting them together.

I used to love Country Home and still treasure my back issues. I don't generally look at it any more. The same thing happened with Victoria magazine. I was so saddened when they went modern. I always wondered if that was why they ended up shutting down for several years.

I can't wait to see your wee little boots, I am sure that they will be perfect! Thanks for checking out my cross but Lee sent me over to see some angel wings and I don't see them. Did you have them posted or linked to someone else?

Hi Dawn,
Love that chandelier! But then you know me...I love bling and glitter! lol

I have those two magazines, but my Romantic Homes has a different cover. I have had two people ask me where I picked it up because of the cover. I have noticed some magazines do that. Put out a couple different covers in different markets. Mine is on my blog if you want to take a peek.

Those little boots are adorable!! I can't wait to see the ones you make.
Blessings~

Oh how baby Clara would love some of these!!! I can't wait to see them all done. I KNOW that they will be wonderful.
I had such a thing for magazines until everything looked like it was all put together by a designer. I love to see REAL peoples homes and so I go over and over all my old issues. I'm so glad I stashed them.
Hugs,
June

Oh, I can't wait to see the little boots when you get done with them! And, I'm with you regarding the magazines. I've always loved Romantic Homes, and I have stacks of old Victorias in boxes. I still receive Country Living in the mail, but don't care for it as much as I used to--it's just different now. Have a great day, and stay warm!!!!!!

The little boots look like so much fun for little Clara!! What a creative gift! I totally agree about the mags. I used to subscribe to them all, Romantic homes for more than 20 years and then they stopped showing HOMES, mostly just vignettes and more trendy things to purchase. I have lugged around old copies through several moves and only recently went through them and tore out my favs to put in notebooks. Maybe it's just at "sign" that I am getting old, I don't know, but "beautiful" seems to be missing in many areas of our culture these days, clothing, styles, behavior, childrens things.....Well, just wanted to validate your opinion today. I will check out the ones you featured to see if they are worth the price. Ha. It seems to be that the blogs have taken over what the magazines "used" to show, and I am soooooo thankful that I have the blogworld in my life!! Have a wonderful day, sweet Dawn!! Linda

Dawn, we picked up that romantic homes at the plum tree today when we stopped in for a visit. I loved a few of the pages in this issue. Have you seen the holiday fabric bags / ribbons in the shop where someone stamps designs on them? They are so pretty and cute.

I use to be a Country Living girl, but I much prefer Romantic Homes these days. Country Living's layout doesn't always capture my heart.

Hi Dawn,
Thanks for all the sweet comments. The kids are doing much better now, even went back to today. I no mod either, that's why I really look forward to Harris Publications issues, like Romantic Country, they put a few more out randomly. When ME & Country Home went away I filled that hole with a couple of European mags. I really like them. PS Can't wait to see Clara in her new boots. Lisa

Try the British Country Living. It is so far superior to the American one... really a completely different magazine.
