Treasures found....

Beautiful angels for you ~

Cicely Mary Barker

I found a few treasures last week....I had to share them with you ~
One is the great old dictionary for five bucks..and you KNOW I love it!
The three canvas fans? No, not my style but for $1.00 each
I can gesso over them and turn them into something I DO love ~
I always look at the price first and then
try to figure out if I can transform it!

The smallest bread tin I've ever seen!!!
So beat up but don't you love it?

Five little bobbins of black thread ~ beautiful....

OK, I know I have a baby shoe thing...
and "Hoarders" will probably come hunt me down because of it
but look at the scalloped edges!!! I couldn't resist ~

Wonderful rusty ornamental things ~

Here are the lovely fan canvases....
but look beyond...to what they COULD be ~

Some of the graphics inside the dictionary
that I didn't discover until I was about to take photos for you!!!

Of course, a book of old sheet music for a dollar
cannot be left behind ~

More beauty for you ~

Sally of Art Inspired by Scripture is creating
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL works of art from very old Bibles
from the thrift....they are not torn, all the pages are there
but you want to touch it, look at it...read it ~
open it randomly and have the Lord speak to you....

Sherry of Creations from My Heart made these gorgeous fairies
from my tutorial ~ don't you love her footed glass jars??

And sweet Marie of Spun By Me
is having her FOURTH giveaway this December!!!
Something we all would love to have....a Target gift card!!
~ Just click HERE to comment to win ~

I hope all of your Christmas plans are coming together.
Don't work too hard, enjoy the moments....they pass by so quickly!

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Thank you for the sweet angels! And as for your goodies I think the rusty things are my favorite but, like you I have a thing for baby shoes & those are pretty darn cute! Treasure hunting is so much fun! I just finished my last gift. Tied the knot in the velvet rose that I sewed onto a hat for a friend. Happy to get that last package wrapped. Are you ready? Hope you are enjoying this blessed season. Thank you for all you do for us! HUGS! Charlene

I can't bear to cut into the colored graphics of a dictionary like that and I know you feel the same so I'm waiting to see what you do with it! Thanks for noticing my blog. I love doing the Bibles--so fun. Just spray each page with water, scrunch, straighten slightly and let dry. That's all. It takes a while but the outcome is stupendous. Off to food shop and wrap presents for my 13 grandchildren now. We're having a BIG Christmas at my in-laws house and they are very brave. Have a very merry Christmas and prosperous New Year. Love, Sally

That dictionary was such a great find, with the colored botanical etc. inside....also, I love the idea of adding a "foot" to the glass jars. It really transforms them, don't you think? Thanks for all of the inspiration, not just from your creations but from others as well.

Oh, such pretties, thank you sweet Dawn!
That is the cutest little bread tin, you're right. LOL, I'm chuckling at the thought of you on Hoarders! I love that show, does that make me warped and twisted?

I just want you to know that I give thanks for the gift of your friendship this year, Dawn.
Wishing you and yours a most blessed and Merry Christmas!

I love the bible idea. It is so pretty!! The finding the right scripture "by chance" is always the best part!

Dawn, I have to laugh! What would we creatives do without rusty old stuff and acid-eaten books and worn baby shoes, etc.! Just think what we're doing to save the environment and inspire and have joy in creating! I can see exactly why your eyes went to those charming baby shoes! And the inside of the dictionary is a treasure trove!! I just know we are going to see those pages in your assemblages! And, of course, the rusty what-nots too!

Wishing you and your family a Blessed Christmas dear friend whom I'd never have met without the internet and blogging. May you have as much joy as you have brought to me each time I visit with you and each time I look at the little baby fairy jar I won from you.

God bless,
Diane
