Investing in your dreams ~

As I sit all bleary-eyed looking into my computer screen this morning (because you all know I LOVE staying up ridiculously late), I'm reminded of why I love my friends here so very much....
we truly invest in one another's dreams!!!

To take a chance, start a blog and then share what you love is putting yourself out there for the whole world to see. But then to receive a few comments that confirm what you love IS wonderful, is the true joy of blogging!!!! That is why I love to help anyone start a blog. I want you to experience that "oh my goodness, someone DOES get me!" feeling and to keep passing that feeling on to others ~

We all love our families so much but it seems as we gather here, we can give and receive encouragement about what we're doing or what we love, that might otherwise go unnoticed. Women are always giving encouragement, you can see it in comments on blogs everywhere. To be the recipient of that encouragement, is a powerful thing!

Women are also so instinctively creative ~ we love to make beautiful things, maybe cook yummy recipes or share wonderful ideas. This kindred land of blog continues to remind me why I love blogging, why I love sharing ideas and why I love all of the dear friends I've made. You never know what your creativity will spark in another person!!

You have invested in my dreams these last three years. Thank you all so much for that!!! I would have never had the courage to send my artwork to Stampington to be published.....never had the courage to even THINK of writing an article.....and never had the courage to teach my first art class (thank you Tammy!) too!!

I can only hope that I can encourage you to take a little time each day to invest in your dreams the way you have mine. Sometimes all we need is a little "push" to make us take that first step in doing what we love!

hugs and love to each and every one of you!!!
Dawn

Thanks Dawn,
I need a little push; trying to make things to put in a local shop, make Christmas gifts and start an ETSY store..all at once. What was i thinking?! One moment at a time, painting is drying and i'm off to do some dishes, then sew..mixing up the daily with small doses of inspiration!

So very true. I am between surgeries and trying to do Christmas and trying to decide if I want to do crafting as a business or just as a hobby. Sometimes thinking I am trying to do too much. But then again, I guess that is what women do. We are always trying to do everything.

Thank you for a wonderful blog and blog friendship.

Merry Christmas

So beautifully said, Dawn...you expressed my feelings perfectly! I've only been blogging since the end of August, and I've been overwhelmed with the kind comments, encouragement, and wonderful new friends I've "met"--can't imagine a day without being part of this lovely world anymore...Thanks for all you do to make it even lovelier!

Hope you're having a wonderful wintry day!

Hello Dawn,
Thank you so much for jumping inside my head and saying what I too feel about blogging. I remember my first post. I felt like I wasn't really talking to anyone but myself and then, ta-dah! I received my first comment. I connected with SITS and the ball started rolling.
I love the quiet of the evening when dinnertime is over, hubby is watching tv and the cats are fed and I am snuggled up on my bed with my laptop a thousand miles away.
Thank you so much for your inspiration. I'm nearly in tears just reading your post. Thanks
for the love!

Hugs......Sissie

If you get a chance, swing by my blog again . . . I just posted some pictures of my fluffy, beauties . . . pigeons, silly!

Dawn, I have only been a bloggette now for a short time but it is because of your encouragement in one of your posts a while back that made me want to have a blog. It still took me some time to get up the courage to do this but am sooooo glad I did! You share so much with us and encourage so many I'm sure. I only hope that my blog and my voice out there can do the same. I have a long way to go but I am on my way and have so many ideas I want to share, thank you ~ Theresa

Dear sweet Dawn, as you know, I am one of your converts. I have a blog ONLY because of YOUR encouragement, helpfulness, and kindness toward me. My life has been so blessed because you took the time to help me take that first step. Now my mind, soul and creative spirit keeps me blogging on. Sometimes I get so lonesome for a girlfriend to communicate with and there you are! (No matter what time of the day or night) Inside of this box called a computer is a bounty of kind, generous, and helpful bloggetts waiting to hear from each other. I find myself feeling concern, sorrow, love and friendship toward total strangers. I Pray often for those who are in need of prayer, compassion, and love.
Thank you, Dawn, for your love and support.

you are so right, to have someone "get it" or understand, and support your creativity, is such a wonderful feeling. I started blogging this april, and am amazed at how geniunly supportive people are, so caring, people who understand our need to create.

Hi Dawn!!
My gosh...you have NO idea how much of inspiration you are to ME!!! YOU and other talented womean gave me the courage to send articles and artwork to be published, to post as often as I can and to maybe inspire that ONE person as you all have inspired me. I wish that I had the time to visit and leave comments for each and everyone everyday but unfortunately...life doesn't give me a chance to do that. So when I do get a chance to snuggle at my computer and visit...I end up spending hours it seems, catching up on all of your "beautifulness" (is that a word??? ;)
I think that YOU are deserving of much Thank You's from all of us as you lift us up and teach us beauty everyday!!!
You are so blessed Dawn, but we are even more blessed to have YOU!
ok...I'm going catch up on all what I've missed...time is a tickin'

My goodness, I couldn't have said it better.
My blog is the one place where I can show other women some of my more... shall we say "unusual" decorating and know that they really really "get it!" AND what a perfect place blogland is to be inspired. Blogs like yours are a great inspiration for everyone!

Dawn amor, when I read your post...my eyes were watering, when I read some of these comments the tears freely flowed...I will never forget the day, I spoke to my idol for the first time on the phone and was telling her how much I love and admired her and her beautiful blog and how one day I hoped to have one myself...if I ever got the courage to forget my fear of failure, lack of computer know how and then she asked me..."what would you name your blog and what colors and things do you love" and next thing I knew...bibby bobidiboo...I had a beautiful blog made especially for me, from sweet beautiful you! :) You gave me that lil push over that cliff of fear and wanting and I have never looked back!! Dawn, isn't there a commercial that says "Just do it"? So true! One of my favorite quotes is "If everyone waited until he (or she) could do something so perfectly that no one could find fault with it, no one would ever do anything". Cardinal Richlieu

You encourage, you share, you inspire! Thank you, dear friend! No excuses, right! Just do it! Just plunge in and try!

Blessings!

That is so very precious ~ isn't it funny how some people just do not get how you can actually have friends online that are true friends and you may have never met personally ~
My girls and husband do not understand at all but I do and I guess that is what is important ~

i agree with u, dawn. so well said, a little encouragement does go a long way... esp when we crafters mostly just sit in our little corners going on with our passions, often left unnoticed. thanks for sharing your thoughts. :)

Oh Dear Precious Dawn. I don't know how I could say anything any better than all your sweet friends already have. While reading their comments all I could think is: how much does it say about Dawn that she's touched so many of us and that we all get the same loving feeling and comfort from her writings, her friendship and even her creativity.

There are so many people in blogland that I would love to meet. Dawn by now you have to know how much it would mean to me to be able to meet you.

Thank you for all you've given to me through this blog and your sweet comments and visits to me.

Hugs and love, Tracy :)

I comletely agree with you Dawn! I love blogging because I feel that I have "friends" online that I can share with and who share with me and inspire me. I have learned so much from others blogs (especially yours). It keeps the loneliness and the blues at bay and I am so thankful for that. Thanks for sharing you thoughts, your art, your gorgeous pictures and your family with us each day. Big Hugs!

Dawn,
This blog thing is what you call 'passing it on'. You have a true spirit, you took a chance, being yourself, not trying to impress and people responded to that. In return you have inspired and encouraged so many of us. Karma baby! You deserve all of the great things in your life. Lisa
