A little goodness...it makes me smile ~

One is this sweet little or may I say BIG, swaddle cuddle blanket
for our growing grandbaby Murray.
He just LOVES being swaddled when he sleeps and has
outgrown his first one ~ so his Mimi just HAD to make him
a new, bigger, cooler for Spring and stretchier one!
He's going on five months old now and weighs twenty pounds!

Sorry about the little ol' baby doll, but I just wanted you to see how it's used...

Now to have a fitting with our angel Murray!!!

I'm also working on a prototype lavender sachet for my
sweet friend Linda of Willow Nest ~
She wants to sell a few at her shows...
what do you think?
Do you like the raggedy ruffles on the ends?

Making beautiful things.
'tis so wonderful!

Happy Tuesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Good stuff to share!!!

I'm so looking forward to this week....
Noah is out of school all week for "winter break" and
I'm just counting my blessings!!!
I can't help myself,
I'm a helpless night owl and that's just the way it is ~

I had a bit of a field trip this past Saturday!!!
The hubs and I headed down to Macon, GA (only about an hour from us)
to visit my favs...Barnes & Noble, Joann's Etc. and to see this new
"Antique" market that just opened up the end of last year.

Well, let me just tell you, they need not put the word "antique" anywhere at all
on their signage. It was totally a gift mart, decorative elements kind of place and
I was so disappointed. And their sign just SCREAMS old stuff, right???

I took a few pics of stuff that I loved and that DID look old
and I think we bought the two really old things they had in the place.
I never mind working in few new things to make the old stuff look fresh
but please don't claim to be an antique market when you are not.

What did we purchase?
Two of the most amazing old frames with old photos inside...
and the crazy thing???
They were only 37 bucks a piece!
I haven't decided what to do with them yet.
I really want to take them apart and create a couple of gorgeous assemblages
inside the bubble frames....but it makes me sad about the folks inside too...
But aren't they just wonderful?

Inside Joann's...I thought this moss roll was so neat!!! And look at the little fern leaves....

I purchased a few yards of this precious soft, stretchy knit fabric
to make Murray a new swaddle blanket!
He loves to be swaddled and is now almost five months old....
I think it must make him feel secure and cozy.
But he now weighs 20 lbs (he's such a big boy!) and has outgrown
the swaddle blanket he has.....

I found a few purse patterns...I need to start making some instead of just buying patterns!

Cotton batting was half off...gotta have it then!

And of course, I need some wonderful moss...just in case I make a nature assemblage ~

Then we went on to Barnes & Noble and
I FINALLY found the Mollie Makes issue
that my studio is in!!!
It's a simple one page feature....
in the very, very back but I'm so proud and thankful!!

And while I was at it,
I purchased the British Country Living...
the issue was just beautiful!!!!!

Thank you always, always for stopping by to visit me!!!

Wishing you a beautiful Monday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

A little bit of everything...

The beauty of blogging for six years now
is that I have TONS AND TONS of photos
that I've shared here.
I just love going back to the early days and
looking at what I shared and loving the photos all over again!!!

This is a wild mix but since I don't have anything new to share today
I thought you would enjoy a few pretty pics ~

My buffet in our last home....filled with our clock collection ~

I've always LOVED this pouty girl, isn't she precious????
Use her to make a funny card for someone!!!

A few treasures I found while junkin' a few years back...
yum...yum...

A few things I created from some gorgeous bark cloth I have...
funny thing, I sold the pillows to a blogger in Washington state and
eventually met Tracey in person at the new Victoria magazine
launch party in Dallas, TX!!!
Blogging has really allowed me to do so many wonderful things.

I just love the way these pillow turned out...
and yes, the tiny things in front?
Lavender sachets.

Remember the sweet blogger looking for the house plan
in an old Victoria magazine issue????
One of my readers FOUND IT!!!
And she's such an angel that she's mailing the issue
to the sweet girl that was looking for it ~
I just love it!!!

One of my works-in-progress paper clay pieces...this was to be a bunny ~

The next step...

A random shot of the antiques store I used to own...
good grief it was so beautiful that day!
Can you believe I hand-painted that huge sign that hung out front???

A little something I created in a tiny, old window pane.
The simplicity is beautiful to me.
The backdrop for the graphic?
A gorgeous Ralph Lauren sheet I purchased to cut up and use!

More paper clay projects in progress...

And finished here for my sweet friend Joy ~
She OVER paid me for this as I was about to leave for Texas
for the new Victoria magazine launch in Texas...
I will never forget her precious kindness!

A pincushion I made and sold back-in-the-day ~

A nice photo of our china cabinet I hand painted
loaded up with our vanilla pottery on top
and with the china my sweet husband gifted me for Christmas one year!!

I hope you didn't mind this crazy post but
I so enjoy looking back at all that I've shared over the years ~

Wishing you a wonderful weekend my sweet, sweet friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn
