Something new!

I've had something on my mind for awhile that I've wanted make and
finally took the time to make a prototype.

This is a small, hanging flower bag that is completely
lined with a heavy plastic bag so it can hold water inside!!
I've sewn the bag into the top only so it can hold water
to keep your cuttings fresh ~
What do you think???

My cuttings look a little summer-ish but these were the
only two hydrangea blooms on my tiny bush and I trimmed
a few greenery stems from shrubs in our flower bed.

I hope to make a few that are burlap or canvas soon ~
I think they would be beautiful hanging on doorknobs
or cabinet knobs with evergreens and berries for the holidays!!!
Plus, with the cuttings being water,
they will stay fresh and pretty so much longer!

It measures about 5" wide x 7 1/2" tall with about a 7" drop
from the top of the handle to the top of the bag.

I've listed this one in my Etsy shop....
If they do well, I'll of course have to make more!!

UPDATED TO ADD:
Well, here I'd gone and thought I'd made something new
but I guess there's just nothing new under the sun!!
Check this out:
Flora Doora

Oh well...I'll still make several my own version of these little things :)

And you know if I find a good magazine, I just have to share, right???
The new BH&G Christmas Ideas is a KEEPER!
I've taken a few photos to give you an idea too :)

Beautiful, right???

I hope to have a few more flower bags made soon and
of course listed in my Etsy shop too!!!

Wishing you a wonderful Monday sweet friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

Enjoying the creative process...

I just love being able to whip something up fast!!!
Something pretty that I think you all will love too ~
But sometimes I think I need to rush through,
just to get that sweet finished product, you know?

These living room curtains have plagued me for a while now it seems but
today I tried to get back to them!
I'm finally on the last set as we have three very tall
and narrow windows in there.

I keep telling myself as I'm working on them to slow down,
and try to enjoy the process of creating them.
Curtains are not fun to make to me.
They are necessary and ultimately pretty
but just not fun to create.

I truly do think it's important for us all to remember
to enjoy the creative process, each and every step though ~

Here's a pretty bad pic I took late last night of one window:

Anyway...enough about those things :)

I wanted to share a quick photo of a few magazines that
I've purchased lately.
I've gotten so picky but each one of these had
some wonderful features!!

So we have a sweet little girl's birthday party tomorrow at
a local state park...please pray for sunny, mild weather for us ~
It's turned off cold here in Georgia and we just thought for sure
it would be a gorgeous Spring day and perfect
to have her party outdoors!!!
I still can't believe our baby Clara is turning four years old...

Wishing you a beautiful Friday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Something I think you'll love ~

Look at this wonderful magazine I finally splurged on!
At ten bucks a pop, I have to choose wisely, you know?
This is one that I think you will all love though.....

Here are a few peeks inside, maybe you'll see why I love it!

Finally!! My kits are all packed up and ready to head to Texas....
let's pray they arrive safely!

Once this package finally gets shipped off I think I can breathe a sigh of relief.
I did make a few extra and if I bring them back,
I'll be sure to put them in my Etsy store!!!
I do hope you have a wonderful week ahead sweet friends ~

Wishing you a very happy Monday!!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

An angel in the making ~

I found this wonderful mache dress form a few weeks back on Carol Wingert's blog Be Yourself: Live with Passion. Don't you just love it? It's quite big and I've been trying to figure out just how I'm going to finish her and then last night at Michael's I found a set of angel wings!!!! The price? 2.49 or something! The scale looked right but I wouldn't know until I got home but for the price it was worth a shot.

I think they're going to be perfect, don' you? Now to hammer out the details in my mind on how she'll be dressed....Oh and also, what to do with the halo.....maybe I should wear it, my husband would get a big kick out of that :) ~

Found this great magazine at Books-A-Million ~ maybe, just maybe I'll get a few ideas for my artroom!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend sweet friends!

xxoo, Dawn
