A look back...

Back when I owned my little antiques store...
I added a few wonderful dealers that I knew, just KNEW,
they had the most amazing taste
and I was so happy to add them
and their wonderful wares to our store.

Well, as our friendship grew and my tiredness grew :)
I eventually asked one of them to be my partner.
Cindy always had the most amazing knack for display,
and of course everything she found to sell, I loved!

After a few years I was ready to let her have the shop...
she was and still is, so very talented.
I would continue to visit The Plum Tree and shop from her
and her wonderful dealers!

Sadly, she closed the shop a while ago...
the smallest places have suffered with the bad economy.

I found this post from a few years ago and thought you would
love the gorgeous displays as it was in the Spring ~

Yesterday, my husband and I visited Cindy at The Plum Tree
in historic McDonough, Georgia.
I just love this store....not because I used to own it,
but because of how Cindy has transformed it into a treasure filled haven.
Just take a look and you'll see what I mean ~

Our new cabinet (yay!)
(we bought the wonderful shelves below...
they now rest on our buffet)

Sweet, huh?

I'm working on my studio today and we're all on baby watch. Emily's had spells of good contractions about 20 min. apart and then they stop. I just told her that's so good.....maybe she's dialating and will be ahead of the game when she finally does go into full labor!

You can tell this old post was from a few years ago...Clara is now three!!!
And now we are expecting her little brother Murray in September...
boy, how the time flies....
but these gorgeous pics are always beautiful ~
and I knew you would love them!!!!

Wishing you a wonderful Friday my sweet friends!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Hello. My name is Dawn and yes, I am a hoarder!!!
(just of cool stuff though)

Last week I headed to our little antique space to put a few goodies in ~
I'm making another pile of stuff to take on my next trip too!
It has taken me forever to get this house looking the way I want it to.

Well, I always do a little treasure hunting while I'm out and
found a few things I've got to share with you!

I scanned these first three images from a small book
I found that features plants of the Bible ~
They are beautiful botanical prints,
be sure to click twice to make them large before saving :)

I've had this postcard for a while and finally scanned it for you too!

Here are my small but wonderful treasures!
Look at the graphics on this small stamp box!!!! YIKES!!!
I'm such a sucker for graphics and antique typefaces ~
A few of the stamp parts had fallen off their wooden bases
so I've got to glue those back on.
Were all of the letters there?
Only the "P" is missing!
Who cares...

I love the pointing hand!!!

And just look at this old pincushion! Topped with millinery....I fell in love instantly.
I have a thing for pincushions anyway ~

And this little box.
I thought it was charming and it was so inexpensive...I had to buy it!
After I studied it for awhile, I realized it's an old collar box!!!!!
If you squint your eyes and tilt your head just so
you can read on the front "Ward's Collars No 3"
Now I REALLY love it!
I know, I'm a hoarding freak but it's tiny finds like these that make me smile ~

It's time to make something...
Too many days have passed by ~

Have a great Tuesday my dear friends!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Time for a little inspiration...

We took a field trip this past Saturday!
You know I LOVE junkin' but this was a little more like 'tiquin',
that's what Noah called it when he was little :)
We drove to Madison, Georgia to check out their antique stores ~
Here are a few glimpses of things that caught my eye....

See the sweet little ballet slippers? Yep, mine now :)
And I SO drooled over the tiny wash stand!

Do you think I could use these babies in some artwork?

This girl was about 80 dollars, had a bad eye but I still thought she was wonderful ~

I am SO in love with these colors:

This old leather chair was INCREDIBLE!

The old homes were so beautiful. I barely got a photo of this one going 45 miles an hour!!

And what did I end up with besides the precious ballet shoes?
THIS GORGEOUS BABY ENSEMBLE!!!!!
My hubby bought it for me....thank you so much sweetie ~
So what will I do with it?
Simply gaze at it's wonderfulness.....

I'm helping out at the soap shop again this week,
things are really hopping now!!!!

Wishing you a wonderful Monday precious friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn
