Such a WONDERFUL field trip!!!

Yaaaaay!!!! Spring has totally sprung here in Georgia and
this past Saturday was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
It was breezy, low 70's in temps and just perfect.
We decided to get up early (yes, don't faint, I really did it!)
and get going around lunch time to head out the Scott Antique Market.

What's so funny about this market is that it's held in buildings that used to be
stores we loved when we were growing up...Richway and Treasure Island!
Yes, those names sound so cheesy but my husband and I grew up near
both of these stores, we went shopping there as kids
and now these old buildings house this amazing market!!!

Oh well, enough about all that...just look at the goodness I saw ~

And I know this is quite pitiful but all I spent was...wait for it...
$18.00.
Yes, I know. There were so many treasures to be had!!!
But I have so much stash here already and just
can't justify buying more until I create more!

What DID I buy?
The most amazing speckled canvas fabric....
THIRTEEN yards of it too!
I love creating with this stuff and it's so much a yard at Hob Lob but I
found it for much less...

One sweet piece of stained linen with gorgeous lace and
a beautiful blank diary/journal from 1930.

The most encouraging thing of all from this field trip???
There was SO much inventory at this market and
TONS and TONS of customers buying!!!!
What does this tell me???
Folks are sick of the economy...and sick of everything else ~
but are ready to buy beautiful,
wonderful, old, amazing, gorgeous stuff!!!!

It really was such a great trip...
I hope you enjoy my pics!!

Wishing you a wonderful Monday my dear friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

Good stuff to share!!!

I'm so looking forward to this week....
Noah is out of school all week for "winter break" and
I'm just counting my blessings!!!
I can't help myself,
I'm a helpless night owl and that's just the way it is ~

I had a bit of a field trip this past Saturday!!!
The hubs and I headed down to Macon, GA (only about an hour from us)
to visit my favs...Barnes & Noble, Joann's Etc. and to see this new
"Antique" market that just opened up the end of last year.

Well, let me just tell you, they need not put the word "antique" anywhere at all
on their signage. It was totally a gift mart, decorative elements kind of place and
I was so disappointed. And their sign just SCREAMS old stuff, right???

I took a few pics of stuff that I loved and that DID look old
and I think we bought the two really old things they had in the place.
I never mind working in few new things to make the old stuff look fresh
but please don't claim to be an antique market when you are not.

What did we purchase?
Two of the most amazing old frames with old photos inside...
and the crazy thing???
They were only 37 bucks a piece!
I haven't decided what to do with them yet.
I really want to take them apart and create a couple of gorgeous assemblages
inside the bubble frames....but it makes me sad about the folks inside too...
But aren't they just wonderful?

Inside Joann's...I thought this moss roll was so neat!!! And look at the little fern leaves....

I purchased a few yards of this precious soft, stretchy knit fabric
to make Murray a new swaddle blanket!
He loves to be swaddled and is now almost five months old....
I think it must make him feel secure and cozy.
But he now weighs 20 lbs (he's such a big boy!) and has outgrown
the swaddle blanket he has.....

I found a few purse patterns...I need to start making some instead of just buying patterns!

Cotton batting was half off...gotta have it then!

And of course, I need some wonderful moss...just in case I make a nature assemblage ~

Then we went on to Barnes & Noble and
I FINALLY found the Mollie Makes issue
that my studio is in!!!
It's a simple one page feature....
in the very, very back but I'm so proud and thankful!!

And while I was at it,
I purchased the British Country Living...
the issue was just beautiful!!!!!

Thank you always, always for stopping by to visit me!!!

Wishing you a beautiful Monday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn
