I wanna be the old-clock-face-antique-lace-old-baby-shoe-&-baby dress whisperer!

Do you think I can be?
If sweet Karla can be the gorgeous rhinestone jewelry
and amazing vintage hat whisperer....
maybe I can!
Of course, I may need to add old sheet music,
old dilapidated books, old glass jars and
of course, old buttons to my list too :)

By the way, did you know one of my favorite books is
For the Love of Old?

I wanted to share with you a few goodies I've found recently ~
Look at the GORGEOUS graphics on this pocket watch face....

Watch faces like these are my FAVS!!!

I found this old bottle a while back and it had some kind of red dye inside ~
after wrestling with the rusted old top for days and days,
I finally got it off and cleaned it up....
don't you love the shape?

Plus, I received the sweetest gift in the mail!!!!
My dear friend Colette of A Bird in The Hand
sent me the most precious care package!

Folded gently inside of this beautiful dresser scarf
was a delicate embroidered baby slip....
and a length of gorgeous old lace ~
you SO know what I love dear friend.....don't you? :)

Thank you so very much sweet angel!!!!
I love it all Colette!

I won't talk about the you-know-whats I'm still working on.....
they're becoming a subject that I'm even tired of hearing about ~
kinda like the peat pots?

I hope you have an amazing Tuesday precious friends,
hugs and love,

About time.....

Do you find yourself looking up at the time
and wondering where in the world did the day go???

I just realized this week that Noah starts school (7th grade!)
in just two short weeks!!!
Chase goes back to college (his freshman year!)
in just three weeks!!
The days are flying by and I simply can't believe it.
Sometimes I feel I don't have enough to "show" for my days...
I love to have "proof" that I've been productive or
used my time wisely ~
This is always my challenge.....time.

Seems time is so easy to waste....but so very valuable too.
It's the most precious and inexpensive gift to give....
but too often we tend to forget this fact ~

Time is free, but it's priceless.
You can't own it, but you can use it.
You can't keep it, but you can spend it.
Once you've lost it
you can never get it back.

Time is an equal opportunity employer.
Each human being has exactly the same
number of hours and minutes every day.
Rich people can't buy more hours.
Scientists can't invent new minutes.
And you can't save time to spend it on another day.
Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving.
No matter how much time you've wasted in the past,
you still have an entire tomorrow.

~ Denis Waitely ~

Time is infinitely more precious than money,
and there is nothing common between them.
You can't accumulate time;
you cannot borrow time;
you can never tell how much time you have left in the Bank of Life.
Time is life...

It's just awful, I know....but so many ideas are flying around in my head
and I have just dumped everything here!

Gorgeous stamp to use on our tags in the antique mall ~

On the ironing board even ~ A nest my mother-in-law gathered for me....she SO gets me!!

Little baskets that I found on clearance at Hob Lob
to place a few wrapped soaps inside ~
Precious!

Now....a peek at some of our finds for the new space.....
an amazing old scale ~ a little rusty but who cares?

An old clothespin bag ~ just like we love.....and look at the graphics on the old bottle!

Rustic baskets, simple cabinets...

I love clocks....the graphics of clocks....or anything having to do with them!!

Gorgeous old picnic basket, old metal lunch box, wonderful apothecary jars....

Lamps created from old posts....
wouldn't they look wonderful with shades with old handwriting on them?
How can I make that happen.....we'll see...

Wonderful old galvanized buckets that will perfect for spring plantings ~

More clock graphics....yes, they are busted ~
they have no hands or motor but who cares?
Aren't they lovely?
Oh yes, and a minnow bucket too!

A cool stand that won't be for sale but will display cards and other goodies for sale ~

Old industrial containers that would be perfect to plant herbs inside ~

So there you go! A little peek at what we've gathered so far!
I want to incorporate nests, eggs and other natural elements into our "look" ~

I have to share with you a beautiful jar that Kerry of Farmlass created!!!
I'm in love with it ~

I like strange things ~

I guess if you read my blog regularly you already know this!!! Over the years I've found myself loving odd items ~ but that's one thing wonderful about getting older!!!! I can like weird things and not worry about being "with it", you know what I mean?

I found this gorgeous clock face at Kirkland's....in the clearance section because it was one of those that didn't have a protective glass covering and the hands always get bent and make them not work right. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was even without hands!!! Yes it's just created on cheap press board but I love it for it's "look" and had to have it ~ for a mere 12.00 I thought I could use it as a base for a piece of artwork even!! For now it's front and center on our hearth....just so I can stare at it :)

Even our children know what I love....
one of them gifted me this old wasp's nest and said,
"hey mom, maybe you could use this in your artwork"
Instead, it's displayed on our mantle ~ weird, huh?

A couple of other odd things one the mantle, two hand brooms!!!
Don't you think they look lovely next the the silver candlestick?? :)
I think they are beautiful ~

Try to see the beauty in common, everyday things ~
they make me smile!!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!
hugs and love,

For the love of clocks ~

Of of the many things I love and collect are clocks.
My husband loves them too, which is a good thing!

I was in The Plum Tree the other day and
saw this wonderful clock and just loved it ~
the graphics are so beautiful, the patina....and it's brand new!!
It is new but I don't care, the look is so what I love
and have in our home, it should fit right in ~

A gift bag with a little treasure inside that I put together
for a sweet someone who has the gift of generosity ~

My first attempt at embossing today! I can see places I missed but STILL... isn't it lovely???

Something else I seem to be enamored with lately are vintage pincushions.
Look at this gorgeous one I found on ebay....

And last but not least on this completely random post
is that I've finally started my bee assemblage.....starting is good.

Wishing you a wonderful, relaxing weekend dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn
