Beautiful layered lace...

I had a sweet friend place an order for a padded sleeve
for her Ipad Mini!
I've never seen an Ipad Mini
but she sent me the measurements and
I can only hope that this will work for her ~
Here's a peek!

I created my own pattern according to her measurements ~
Using washed canvas...a sturdy interfacing and
fleece for the lining!

You can see in the pic below the soft fleece I used
for the inner fabric, to cushion and protect it.

The flap was the perfect blank canvas
to layer some wonderful old lace....
and of course you knew I had to add
a small bundle of seam binding and a gorgeous, big ol' vintage button!

I so hope my dear friend is pleased!!!

Wishing you a beautiful Wednesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Wow! That is so much nicer than the black Apple foamy-plastic sleeve my poor iPad wears...

It's just beautiful, Dawn! Love all the lace. I just made a cover/sleeve for the kindle I got for Christmas. It was something a little different for me, but I love it. The plus was I used fabric I already had {which I'm trying to do this year}.

Dawn What a awesome idea! You should try making them for the regular ipad and sell them in your etsy shop! I would buy one for my iPad. So creative you are... thanks for sharing your photos.

I want one!!! It looks perfect! The ipad mini is a cool pad but I think you have to have young eyes to see anything on the screen. Once again you've made something amazing. Miss you girl!xoxo

I love the pouch you created, Dawn! I bet it's perfect and she will love it. For those of us who love lace, I think it is the perfect cover (soft, vintage-y and lacy) to cover out iPads (technology) with. Hugs, Cathy

Hi Dawn, You are a wiz when it comes to putting a vintage spin on new technology. I have never been able to get that look of abundance , yet never over done or over the top. Just beautiful! Love, Penny

Just lovely! Makes me think of the time I decoratively covered the Vaseline jar my husband continually left out on the vanity. He told the story of looking for his Vaseline jar for years!

Ooh, Dawn, your sleeve is gorgeous!! The luscious layers of lace on the flap made me swoon!♥ My daughter had one made for my Nook, and it is lined with fleece similar to the kind you used; it not only protects the Nook from scratches but wipes smudges off it as I pull it out of the sleeve.: )

Oh, Marlynne, your story about your poor husband and his jar of Vaseline made my day!!

xoxo
