Snippets of inspiration ~

Today I'm sharing a little inspiration...
stuff I love, stuff I used, stuff I've made ~
I'm a little tired and spent.
A hawk killed my next-to-last chicken and my lone little survivor hen has
gone to live with my son Brent and his wife Emily.
They have a thriving brood and so my last hen will now live with them.

After having dogs kill the first four of six and now having a hawk attack today,
I'm giving up. No more chickens for me!
Granted, I didn't have a proper pen for them,
they were allowed to free range around our fenced in back yard but
I had no idea they were such fair game for predators here where we live.

Oh well, I can live in a farmhouse and NOT have chickens, right? :)

How's your week going??
I hope wonderful!!!
Thank you always for stopping by ~
Have a great Wednesday sweet, sweet friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Oh dearest Dawn, I`m so sorry to read this,-I know how happy you was when starting with your little new baby chickens- the first eggs, and the happines watching your sweet grandchild holding them....
but farmlife is many other happy things,too-
I also don`t have chickens anymore, even also living in the country :)
Precious Dawn, I love seing all your so beautiful nature creations, I adore the little boxes with dried beauty inside, and your fantastic decorated rooms.
I hope your day will be filled with this beauty from your home, and also with nature`s beauty from outside your door.
Hugs and LOVE,
Dorthe

Oh dear Dawn - my heart goes out to you having chooks of our own! I know about the shock and sadness when a hawk just carries one off terrifying any others watching. These are times that make living on the land a bit hard but I am so proud of you that you have turned around to find solace in being brave in sharing some of your beautiful home and lovely creations.
The little remaining chicken has gone to a better place and is no longer alone!
Sending you some love and hugs from downunder and you surely need them now!
Suzy

I know Clara will miss your chickens too! What a shame!

We have many farms around me and I see them walking on the roads.
