Can you ever have too much?

Ugh....I think NOT!!!!
When it comes to lace ~ I am ALWAYS on the lookout!!

I've collected lace ever since I owned my own antique store...
and when I'm out junkin', I still search for beautiful old pieces.

I had baskets filled with lace all over the studio and finally
decided to get them all together and dump them into a big ol' vintage suitcase!

Yes, I know....what a mess! Everything's all jumbled up together ~
And when I'm creating, I just dig and dig.

The suitcase below is the smaller one that was already filled with lace ~

Some pieces may be only about three inches long ~ I don't care...
they're like little treasures to me.

I even store several bunches of crinkled seam binding
that I haven't gotten around to using with the lace,
they look good together, don't you think?

I really should organize it all....
but I'd rather make stuff instead!

Have a beautiful Wednesday dear friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

Goodmorning sweet friend-this is a wonderful idea, and it looks just gorgeous, dearest Dawn.
I have so much even in plastic bags.... and this would be greAT for me ,too.
Well I`m not the happy owner of old suitcases- but I believe I can find a big box, nicer than the bags.
So many fabolous laces you have, and the little shoes in the one photo, are so darling.
Wish you a wonderful day with love and hugs.

Wow Dawn! I'm envious of your lace. I love to look for lace while out and about too, so I know the value of the time and the lace that you've got in your suitcases! You are bountiful in lace! Lucky! xo

Always before I was like you with the lace.... jumbled up in an old crate, or box, or anywhere else it would go. I now have it spooled up and tucked in a wire locker basket. It looks so pretty, it's a great way to actually display it and it makes it SO much easier to sort out when using. Great excuse to have to go and buy more now :)

Lace doesn't stay organized so your plan is perfect. Dig! You do have a lot of lace...lots and lots!

Dawn- We seriously need to talk. ;-)
But what can I really say- I'm the person who has a hoard of dead bugs, wasp nests, tree lichen and moss and other such stuff.

You sound like me, Dawn! If a snippet of lace or seam binding looks big enough to do something with, I keep it. Your collection looks so pretty together and makes for a nice display, too.

It's addicting!! I buy some to use on projects and hate to cute into it!! But have to today to get caught up on some designs.
So fun to look for when out and about as you never know what you'll find. Like the suitcase idea!! Thanks for sharing.

Oh how I'd love to run my hands through your fantastic collection of lace... it's a swoon factor! Lucky you! Playing is much more fun than organizing...at least that's my take. Have a creative day! xoso Sandy

If there should ever be such a thing as "too much lace" I know two of you who are going to be in BIG trouble. "She" has hers in a suitcase (or three) as well. Tried to be all organized and bought several wood embroidery hoops thinking it would be easier to see what was there. Not. It was a noble effort though don't you think? Purrsonally, I wasn't too keen on the hoop thing, I mean really? Where was I supposed to nap?!?! See my point?! Exactly. Keep the lace. Keep the suitcases. I think they are divine :)

Purrs!

All that Fabulous trim, needs to be wound on wonderful old wooden round clothes pins! Then wouldn't that be a Fabulous way to display and organize! Then 'too much' will be stunning! LOL! Get that beautiful granddaughter of yours sitting with you doing this as a project, as she someday will hopefully have your same passion, and it will all go to her someday:) xx
