A new look for a sweet old girl ~

Our house has been in the process of being painted!!!
I can't tell you how much better she looks...
and since the wonderful front porch was just finished,
I had to share!
I still have to get everything back up here but don't you just LOVE IT????
The house has been painted white and the trim is a steel blue grey ~

After my harrowing visit to the nasty dentist Wednesday,
(OH and one little benefit from my traumatic visit would be a swollen upper lip ~
I've always wanted bigger lips!!!)
I had to reward myself by stopping at a few thrift stores on the way home!
These little goodies were my finds.
A set of canvas curtains that I'll use as fabric, yay!!!!
A stack of wonderful old sheet music for only four bucks,
and this precious Christopher Robin Story Book....
I'm such a sucker for old books!!! I'm in love with their old illustrations ~

I'm gonna wash this stuff and shrink it up ~ then it'll be ready for a new project!

Some of the sheet music is quite old ~

Here are a few more finds that I've acquired lately.
The coin purse is so very tiny....I found it on Ebay!
The laces are from a local antique mall.
I don't know why I buy what I buy ~
all I know is that I love it!!!!

A few items I scanned in just for you:

Thank you all so much for your sweet comments about my dental issues ~
I'm hate that I posted about it because I love staying positive here....
but then again.....to know you are thinking of me, SO LIFTS ME UP!!!

Have a beautiful Friday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Dear Dawn:
I'm so glad to read that you treated yourself to something fun after your dental appointment. It's amazing to me how much our dental health affects our overall well-being. I hope you're back to your usual chipper self again very soon.

I, too, love old books, and yours was a real find!
Hope you have a restful and happy weekend.
xoxo

Oh Dawn! The Christopher Robin Story Book??? What an awesomely old and dear edition!! Call me green, if you please! Love to collect old books, too - and especially classic titles such as this.
Your porch looks lovely - look forward to the finished product with furnishings. Hoping to still have a porch by Monday with Irene threatening up the coast and coming right for us! Believing for best!
Joy!

Oh, your front porch is lovely. I'm so happy for you that you have it. Thank you for the goodies. Keep a good thought and be positive that your permanent bridge will fit perfectly.
I just had a root canal about 3 weeks ago. I was TERRIFIED. It happily was a much better experience than I was expecting!! Everything went fine. And I hope it will go the same way for you, too! I'll keep a good thought.

Not sure if people know that Winnie was named after a bear at a Zoo in Canada, I think the writer was there with his son or it could be a friends son not sure. Anyone know the details?

Dearest Dawn, I loved your porch from the first photoes, -but now it is really so beautiful, in it`s new dress-
How funny that we alwayes, find a little excuse ,for buying sweet things, when we have experiensed not nice things, or doctors or dentists appointments, hihi--I do exatly the same, sweetie- and I LOVE what you found--Winnie is a dear friend, also here in my house- and the sheet music and canvas, will end up in gorgeus creations. The shoe laces and tiny purce, would no one like us leave behind.
Much hugs and love, Dorthe

Winnie the Pooh and vintage music, what could be better. Nice finds after an unpleasant experience. I hope you're at the end of getting the tooth problem fixed and the worst is behind you.

As one of your many followers, I'm glad you shared your trial with us. Blogging has formed a new kind of friendship among women. One where we share so much with each other, and lift one another up with prayers, encouragement and inspiration.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Thanks for all that you share here Dawn, and for your gentle spirit. ~ Abby

Oh the house and porch look so great Dawn. Sorry about your puffy lip. Dental work is the pits. I have had two bridges done more than once each and tons of root canals and crowns. Suffice it to say, I can relate. Just think of that gorgeous smile your gonna have. Sending love...Oh yea, the thrift finds are great!

First, the porch looks awesome! Please post pictures after you get all your stuff back on it!
Second - I love all the stuff you found!! Super Cool!
Third - Nobody can be positive all the time. Sometimes you just gotta vent, and I don't think anybody would say dental work is fun! We feel ya, girl! All you're doing is keeping it real!
