A work in progress!

I've missed you SO!!!!
We had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend and
really enjoyed being with each of our families ~
I've been a missing in action I know, but am finally getting back in the saddle
you know I love my blog here and love you as well ~

This is a scan of the sweet little tin type that Lisa gifted me after
the Paper Cowgirl retreat....I knew you would love to have it too!

I've had this pale, aged, pink satin purse for awhile now...
and even tried to sell it all by it's lonesome but to no avail.
So I thought...why not alter it and turn it into a Flea Bag!
You know, a bag you can throw over your shoulder, not too heavy but
holds the necessities when you are at an antique flea market?
Money, lipstick, etc?
Here are the beginning stages:

I'm adding wonderful antique lace and trims.

I don't know if you can see how really pale the pink is ~ it's almost an ecru now!

I wanted to make both sides beautiful ~
Here's one side:

And the other:

NOW. To add a comfortable strap and plenty of embellishments!!!
Antique buttons....maybe a few seam binding bundles....what about a clock face???
I'm in the home stretch now!!!

OH! And look what my husband found for me one day....
ANOTHER TREASURE BOX!!!
Now if I can only make it as sweet as the first one :)
We'll see!!!!

Here are the finished pics from my first treasure box:

I have to share with you this beautiful photo of Clara....
Brent, Emily and Clara traveled to mountains of West Virginia to
Emily's grandmother's cabin for the fourth ~
look at this angel enjoying herself and picking flowers for her mama!!!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday my sweet friends!!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Oh Dawn sweetie, your purce is the most beautiful purce ,ever, I think your work is amazingly wonderful, -and I just know your new box will be beautiful and filled with small wonders ,like the first one.
Dearest friend-if yuo don`t hear from me the next dayes, it is because Mathilde is with us, after huge water fall in her parents house surroundings-and a cellar filled 70 cm high with water-so all have to be cleaned and fixed with insurance-
so we enjoy the little sweet here, like you -dear Clara.
Hope your week, will be a happy one, my sweetest friend.
Sending you love and hugs.

I had hoped that you were having a sweet time vacationing and celebrating with your family. Excellent!

Love the flea market bag, though I can't imagine that that's all it would be good for. And I know that box is destined for a great makeover!

First of all ~ your sweet Clara is so precious ~ I love that look on her little face!

Your purse is looking fabulous! What a wonderful idea to create just a little soemhting to carry the essentials around in...that will definitely help in keeping the hands free for treasures!
Speaking of treasures...your treasure box is beautiful and I'm sure the second will be at least as lovely. You have such a wonderful touch for putting just the right things together!!

I am new to this so pardon if I asked about a topic already covered. How do you attach the lace? In this case, to cloth. Also, how attach to paper? What product used is you use other than needle and thread? Anxious to hear back.
