Such simple things make me happy!

I really am so easy to please! I promise.
You can even ask my hubby....I think he would agree.
For Mother's Day he gave me three of the most gorgeous ferns
for our front porch and THAT sweet friends, is exactly what I wanted!!!!

There's nothing like beautiful ferns hanging on the porch of an old farmhouse ~
I had to take a few photos for you.
They're taken from the driveway so it's quite a ways from the porch,
but you get the idea.

The grass is freshly cut by my sweet son Brent and his lovely wife Emily...
yes, BOTH of them cut it on different lawn mowers Saturday.
The wind has been so busy here that there are STILL magnolia leaves everywhere.
But that's the price you pay to have these beauties....
I don't mind them one bit.

Another wonderful thing I want to share with you ~
My son Brent built a ramp going into the new chicken coop this past weekend too!
The girls are getting so big....they needed to be able to get inside.
I still haven't gotten them a pen built but have secured the yard
and now they are truly free range chickens!!
I love how they cuddle up in the coop when the sun goes down.....
They took to the ramp immediately!

Just a pic of the side of the back yard.
I'll have to take a close up of the fence that has the baby bed springs worked in.
You just have to love the jacked up fence :)

Can you believe this big ol' pecan tree?
It really looks like two have grown into one!
I've heard that the tassels that fall in the Spring indicate
how many pecans you will have in the fall....
well ~ if that's any indication we are going to have TONS of pecans!!

And you have just GOT to see what arrived in my Saturday mail!!!
I won a giveaway on Deneen's blog Dreaming in Color ~
Her beautiful Ticket sign!!!!
I absolutely LOVE it and will be hanging it in our living room soon ~
Thank you so much Deneen!!!

Don't you just love it????

And just one more little tidbit ~
I've added a tiny goody to my Etsy shop....
A handmade needle keep!

I love sharing stuff with you my sweet friends ~
Wishing you a wonderful Monday....
hugs and love,
Dawn

Good monday morning, dearest Dawn-how wonderful are the photoes from your lovely house. The ferns certainly looks as if they belong there on your porck, and I love youw white painted house. The chick`s also looks like they love the ramp- and it is great they can now be out, without fearing the fox.You live in a most beautiful spot sweetheart, the big Pecan tree is fantastic.
The needle keeper- looks like a piece from a Jane Austin book-beautiful.
I wish you a beautiful day, dearest friend.

Oooh, lucky you, Dawn! Love that sign! I love ferns on a front porch like that. In the heat of Summer plants like ferns just psychologically make me feel cooler!

What a charming home you have! Totally love every inch, even the jacked up fence, lol. Ferns do bring that southern feel to a front porch. Are your hens laying yet? Barred rocks are so cute and docile. Ummmm, do you have every opening of your coop sealed with chicken wire? I have learned from experience that you have to secure the coop like fort knox to keep unwanted visitors out.( icouldn't tell from the pics) Love the ticket sign and your needle keep!
Hugs, Gerri

Simple things are great. Jay washed my Jeep for me for Mother's Day. If you could of seen it you'd know that was a big chore. I love a porch with baskets- but my baskets have all red in them this year. Thanks for sharing.

Your home is so sweet nestled into the country like that. What good helpers you have...mowing, building, very nice. The ferns look fantastic there and pecans...oh boy howdy...things are looking up for fall baking projects. Yum!
