There's no place like home ~

With the five precious sons that we were gifted from Heaven
Dennis and I both have always wanted our boys
to know if they were in a pickle,
or in dire straits or just don't have any place to turn or land.....
they can always, ALWAYS come home!!!

Several of our older sons have come home right now,
they are both gathering themselves and getting a foothold
to get back out into the real world.

And you know what's so funny?
In moving to the farmhouse we totally
"downsized"!!!!
But as a family,
we always have room for each other ~

May your family always be welcoming and filled with love!!
Happy Tuesday precious friends,
xxoo, Dawn

Our home also is always open to our two grown sons. I hope to think they always see our home as a safe haven and a place to come to and feel good and re-group. That's what home and family is for.

That's what family is for. I feel the same way about my girls. I even had to go home when I was married after the birth of my first child. I was so glad to have parents who welcomed me and my husband while we got back on our feet.

It's good that your sons have that assurance ~ that there's always a place they can call home. We feel the same way at our house. That's what families are for.

Have a blessed day Dawn!

Sounds like a very busy, yet loving time. May each of your sons find what he needs. Times are challenging and it must give your sons peace to know that you are still there for them. (Hope they know how to cook, clean, and do laundry. ;D )

Good Morning Dawn, That is what parents (grandparents)do, family is everything! I've mentioned before how you have been a strong inspiration for me beginning to blog. Your tutorials drew me in and back to creating. I've posted my first tutorial, I feel it's a way to pay it forward. Hugs, Linda

Dearest Dawn,

Words spoken from the truest of sweethearts!

Yes, I too was given the opportunity to move back in with my family during a divorce from a brutally abusive husband...with my 2 Deaf children...I could focus on setting up legal safety measures...focus on my career as I was then the sole support of my kids and myself...I can't tell you what it meant to have the haven of my family home as a refuge to rebuild my private life, my damaged self esteem and demonstrate to my kids that life can be wonderful! That precious time allowed me to go into therapy...build a very sucessful career...focus totally on my children's welfare...eventually to test the waters of "dating"...and ultimately I found my way back to me...stronger, wiser, happier, healthier and then I met Mr. B...Life is good!

Blessings to your dear sweet family and your precious grandbaby's smiling face captures the essence of happiness...FAMILY!

Sandy

Dawn, you just impress me as the kind of mama that always has her doors and her arms open to her kiddos. Heck, you're like that with all of US, it's just in your nature. :-)

Love ya!

Dawn,

If it gets too crowded at your place, you can send little Clara over to my house!!

While I don't comment often, this post, touched my heart. I have no living family, to be able to hear the words "you can come home, again" would be music to my ears. You are wealthy beyond measure to have each other.

Some people think I'm crazy for allowing my kids a home to 'come home to'... my three oldest (27, 25, 23) have done it a time or two -even when my 12 yr old and I lived in a tiny two bedroom apartment! We made it work and we were happy to have them around for awhile. They didn't take advantage of the situation and I think it gives us time to regroup as a family and help each other! I can't imagine it any other way! Thanks for this dose of inspiration! Jamie V in MT

Oh Dawn... I hear this so much.. It can be rather tough world with job lay offs and personal problems.. My two sons have been laid off for about 3 months but they are finding extra things to do as they are skilled in many fields... My oldest has probably been blessing the snow as he has been plowing snow for businesses ect for 2 months now ... It is hard and I am fearful for some the future will not be as good as we saw. Anyway enjoy your time as a family.. It is a blessing...

Dear Dawn, you are not alone with having your children back in the house. Similar to your family my husband and I downsized and never thought the bird would come back to the nest. But she did and while I love it, at times it can be very challenging. Children that come back are now adults and the dynamics change but also stay the same. It makes life interesting and never boring. But it is what family is all about!

Big hug!
