What will this new year hold???

Can you EVEN believe it's already time for the new year???
It really is a wonderful time, isn't it?
A time for fresh beginnings ~
A time to make changes ~
A time for a new start....

But what will this new year hold?
I feel that WE hold this answer, don't you???
At this time in my life, I've finally realized that
if we want things to change in our lives,
WE have to change them!

What do I want to change in my life?

I would like to have more COURAGE!!!
Yes, you heard right.
I doubt myself, I doubt my capabilities and even doubt my art ~
I think I'm afraid to push myself to the next level...
So my big step is teaching a class at Karla's Bird Song retreat this spring!!!
Am I mortified?
Yes.
But I will push through and do this!!!!

I want to help more with
my family's business
Shop Fun Soap
with new product design and
don't fall out or be shocked....
but I'm going to work at the trade show this January!!!!!!
Yes, I'm an old bag and
I'll fit in at the Atlanta Merchandise Mart
like oil in water....
but I do know what's beautiful
and look forward to selling our wonderful soap!!!

No, I really don't make resolutions....
but I do have aspirations ~
things that I would love to see happen.

I don't know why I've posted these pics....

Except that they are beautiful to me....

This is a photo of a building in Savannah ~ I just love the perspective!

My new year's wish for you???
That your new year is full of promise
and that you will be happy, healthy and achieve
all that you want to!!!!

hugs and love precious friends,
Dawn

I wish you a very Happy New Year, too, Dawn! I hope you have a wonderful year, even if you feel panic-y about doing a class! : ) We are hoping to downsize in this new year and I am looking forward to that because that means I can at least cut my day job hours, and maybe, just maybe quit it altogether.

Dawn,
Happy New Year. I love that your word for this year is Courage...we could probably all use a bit more of that when the doubts take hold. Guess we just need to learn to trust our crazy ideas and see where they lead. The photos you posted are beautiful and I can see how they might inspire you creatively. Love you blog and plan to visit often in the new year.

Love this post, Dawn. I would love to be more courageous and actually get on a plane and head to Karla's for the spring art retreat! Have I missed her sign up on her blog? I know she said she would post sometime between Thanksgiving and
Xmas. I've never taken a class. I'm ready to challenge myself this year. I would absolutely love to join you there and take the class. Is Lisa teaching too? Happy New Year!

Dearest Dawn,
I was touched by your loving comments when I discovered your blog two years ago, and have been strengthened and encouraged by them to move forward toward my dreams.
Did you know that the way to be without fear is not to “strive to be brave”? It is perfect love that casts out fear ! (I John 4:18) Dawn, just keep loving, and keep receiving love and giving love away, and you will find yourself free from fear, and walking on water!! I believe you have what it takes to reach your aspirations and more. I love your blog, you gorgeous art, and stunning pictures that always refresh and inspire. Thank you, Dawn!

In your thoughts I find inspiration to make my life just a touch more exciting... There are many ways I can make it more lovely without spending money and staying within my budget... Thanks for making me think more about it... My goal this next few days is to have Christmas all tucked in storage by Tuesday... I have to take my village down and it take me all day... It is messy but I enjoyed it so what else counts... Godd luck with new ventures and the wonderful part is being your friend I will share many of them with you on your blog... I also need more courage. Am getting more as I get older. I turned 53 in December. Would love not to work in my part time clerical job. I have worked this type of job all my adult life. I am tired of it....Have wanted to open a shop of my own. Fabric, yarn, tea shop anything like that would be my cup of tea. No courage. Have a wonderful year!

My dear Miz Dawn,
Repeat this one. "I can do all things through God who strengthens me."
You "have" designed soap and many things.
You "have" taught a class.
You "have" sold retail, wholesale is not much different. It will just be a different venu.

Your a natural at all these things...and what fun goals. You can do it. Fly with "positive self talk" Mamma Bird.
Love you!

Best of 2011 to you Dawn! I have some of the courage, I just don't have the oomph! I work a full time office job that is just boring the hell out of my anymore. I do have two antique booths, a husband, animals, a house and a yard to take care of too, plus an estate of a person I was power of attorney for. What I WANT to do is ~ start a blog, spend more time working on the booths and resolve to let go of some of my items. I buy things to sell, but alot don't make it that far. You will do wonderful in anything you choose. You are so creative and your work is so beautiful - we would all love to see more. You will get more courageous as you get older - I'm 52 now and am getting better day by day. It's either that or you just don't give a $&#* so much anymore!! Hugs to you in this new year and may all your dreams and wishes come true!!

That nasty critic pops up in all of our heads at times doesn't it. Dawn your talent and creative spirit blesses so many. I like your idea of not having new year's resolutions but aspirations. That's all any of us can do is to aspire change and not beat ourselves up if we don't accomplish what we aspire to do. Trying and moving forward with a loving, accepting spirit is the healthy approach. Happy new year.
Hugs
Diana
