Book love...

I've been wanting this book for FOREVER!!!
Lisa's always wanted the book too and just bought her own copy...

Now...don't be shocked ~
This style of decorating is not for everyone but
as the resident HOARDER in our home...
There parts of it that so appeal to me!

The name of the book is Interior Alchemy by Rebecca Purcell ~
It was published way back in 1998 but the decorating style
inside is absolutely timeless.

Rebecca Purcell has previously worked as a stylist for Anthropologie...
need I say more??
Plus she truly is a wonderful artist ~

Now that I'm working on my new studio...this is looking a little familiar :)

I love the scientific look of these collections....nature inspired is my fav though ~

Some of this is over-the-top too much but there is something
wonderful and mesmerizing about these collections.
Surrounding yourself with what you love is what this book is saying....

Crazy wonderful, huh??

I'm making progress with the new studio finally!!
There are boxes in the living room, in the dining room,
the kitchen...even the front porch!
As soon as I feel like I won't scare you, I'll take a few photos to share ~

Wishing you a great Thursday sweet friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Lisa brought her copy of Interior Alchemy to Round Top because she knew I'd love it- I looked at the pictures before I went to sleep and had the sweetest dreams.

Is that a picture of my bedroom with the bed unmade??? My den downstairs looks like some of these pictures since I started moving some of my stuff down.
Love to you,

there's a lesson here for those people on the hoarding shows: If they would just find a way to DISPLAY their stuff instead of throwing it on the floor and walking on top of it ...

I have this book. I bought it used when I was in California last year. It's really wonderful and I loved reading about the author's take on decorating.

I am CRAZY for that last picture. The table with all the vintage doo-dads hanging from it and the pin cushion are so, so beautiful.

Dawn,
Oh girl, I'm so glad we bought that book. I just LOVE it! Yes, Beth & I sat there & drooled over it in Round Top. Maybe that was mold on the ceiling, not drool. LOL I just wish the pictures were bigger so I could zoom in and see every dusty detail. I wish they'd make part 2, what was it called Aragon 9 or some wierd thing. I think I love it more becuase it's kind of a mystery. You can't find a lot on RP on google. Bring it with you to Texas! Lisa

Hi Dawn,
That book would be so much fun to devour!
The rooms reminds me of one of my dear old sweet funny Aunts from long ago. She was like a gypsy in her thoughts and her style. I always thought she was way ahead of her time, or maybe just a little eccentric. Some said she was not all there but I found her fascinating.
You would find tapestries and many items that were nature related. I believe that if she were alive today, she would love Anthropologie and this book.
Have fun inhaling all the great ideas!

hugs
Sissie

Lisa had this book with her in Texas, and I'm afraid she had to take it home with some drool on it.
