I wanna be the old-clock-face-antique-lace-old-baby-shoe-&-baby dress whisperer!

Do you think I can be?
If sweet Karla can be the gorgeous rhinestone jewelry
and amazing vintage hat whisperer....
maybe I can!
Of course, I may need to add old sheet music,
old dilapidated books, old glass jars and
of course, old buttons to my list too :)

By the way, did you know one of my favorite books is
For the Love of Old?

I wanted to share with you a few goodies I've found recently ~
Look at the GORGEOUS graphics on this pocket watch face....

Watch faces like these are my FAVS!!!

I found this old bottle a while back and it had some kind of red dye inside ~
after wrestling with the rusted old top for days and days,
I finally got it off and cleaned it up....
don't you love the shape?

Plus, I received the sweetest gift in the mail!!!!
My dear friend Colette of A Bird in The Hand
sent me the most precious care package!

Folded gently inside of this beautiful dresser scarf
was a delicate embroidered baby slip....
and a length of gorgeous old lace ~
you SO know what I love dear friend.....don't you? :)

Thank you so very much sweet angel!!!!
I love it all Colette!

I won't talk about the you-know-whats I'm still working on.....
they're becoming a subject that I'm even tired of hearing about ~
kinda like the peat pots?

I hope you have an amazing Tuesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Something about old watch faces fascinates me. Maybe they have such great stories to tell about the "times" they spent with the people who wore them. Thanks for the photos.

I love the title of your post today, but you can't be the whisperer of all of those, as "I" am! LOL, but I guess I can share my titles with someone as talented and sweet as you are, Tee-Hee. Hope you have a great day!

Hey Lady ~ You can be What Ever "Whisper'r" You Want to Be.... Love those Old Watch Faces, that is one thing I have Never come across in My thrifting, Maybe I just haven't dug deep enough.... FYI: I always have great luck when I have a rusted, stuck on lid/cap, I stand it upside down in a bit of Oil (like cooking oil) just cover the lid - leave it for a day or so, works every time....
Miss Ya, Miss GA ~ Hope to be back in the Fall.....

Beautiful bottle, Dawn! I just used two in a recent project myself. Love the clock faces, too. I guess there is some use for those old watches that don't work anymore.

Your whispering skills are in very fine form! I think I need to be the idea whisperer,I am lacking in blog fodder as well as artful ideas lately. I am blaming on this sweltering heat. Have a pretty day!

Hey you hob lob coupon, mat gel medium, supply knock off whisperer,
I want those clock faces! Especially the pocket watch at the top of the picture. You hoard the best stuff. I can just see you sitting out in your studio going thru your baby shoes, pocket watches, doll clothes & all of your other treasures just oohing & ahhing over it all. Someday I'm going to see it all in real life & drool over it with you. Lisa

Great old clock faces. I either never find them, or I'm just looking past them. Maybe you should be the yummy old stuff whisperer! You always show us yummy yummy stuff!

Marianne said...

You can be the whisperer of just about anything!!
Adore the clock faces. Around here they only sell the complete clock and then they ask way too much money for it (no fun to play with it when you have payed a fortune), so I enjoy them vicariously through your clock-face-whispering skills.

Dawn- I think you're doing a pretty good job of whispering up some goodies- I have a weakness for clock and watch faces, and even faces from old scales, too. But they seem to be harder and harder to find. One of my luckiest finds ever was to stumble across an estate auction of a watch repairman.

ByLightOfMoon said...

I have many clock faces to but I need to remove them from the watch faces and I hope to keep all the pieces, Just a big job I need to sit down to do! Well, what am I waiting for?

Thanks for sharing all of your new goodies too!

Hi Miz Dawn!
What a wonderful gift from Collette! A gal cannot have too many old watch goodies, the blue one is an unusual color. I know you will create some magic with them and the other treasures in your whispered cachet.
Stay cool,,stay in is my answer..I am tired of it too...but we have had some lovely thunderstorms of late...love that!
