Dreaming of crisp, cool breezes ~

I can't help myself!
Here in Georgia our summers are terribly LONG....
humid and oh-so-hot and I'm already tired of it!
So I'm finding myself dreaming of fall and the crisp,
cool breezes that come with it.

I have a little WIP to share with you ~
you know how I love book covers as a foundation for my collages....
well this one began on the back cover of an old scrapbook!
And I'm so in love with tulle right now,
it makes a gorgeous layer in my collages ~

I have more elements I want to add but I thought I'd give you a little peek!

Here's the back of the collage ~
I love using these old forgotten pieces in my art...

I'm still working on mom and dad's invitations.
I don't know why I had to make them with so many steps
but I guess I can't help myself....

Look at this confetti I found at Hob Lob!!
I wish they were a little more shiny but still, isn't it neat?

More in progress pics ~

A little glimpse of fall for you on this HOT, hot summer day.....

Wishing you a wonderful Monday sweet friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

I am tired of it too, Dawn! I got in the pool yesterday and it wasn't even refreshing! It has been too hot to even get outside.

I love the invitations, perfect! Have a blessed day my friend! HUGS!

I know- I didn't even go outside much this weekend and I hate that. It is almost suffocating. But I did get a bunch of stuff done inside and finally I can see my office floor.

Dear Dawn, The invitations are lovely, a keepsake and certainly worth the time. I can't imagine you ever doing anything less than beautiful. We had our first comfortable evening in weeks last night. We walked and walked. It's been so hot and humid, even at 9 or 10 o'clock. Hope you get a little break from the heat. Love, Penny

I am starting to dream of fall too but not so much the winter that is sure to swiftly follow. It was 103 here yesterday with a heat index of around 111 and sweltering with humidity. Love all things southern but that humidity!

Your artwork is stunning and it is not even finished, can't wait to see what gorgeousness you dream up next!

Have a sweet day!

It's the humidity that just does me in Dawn! We've had way too much of it for our area in recent weeks and thunderstorms have not helped. Today we are actually having a nice summer day ~ people can breathe!

Precious friend,
I don't know where to start.
First of all, the invitations........amazing of course. You are so detail oriented girl! The effort you are putting into these will make this event so special to your sweet Mommy & Daddy. Seriously, Hallmark needs you!
I love the collage. I agree, the tulle is way cool! Love how the texture looks over the image. I love the tone of the picture as well, it looks like it's been water colored like they used to do with portraits. Can't wait to see it finished.
Have a great day sweetie! Lisa

the sweet girl rests so wonderfull inside the white rose frame--it is already gorgeus, it will end up big-gorgeus (can one say that).

Here's a nice cool breeze from Alaska, It seems that summer has kind of skipped us here this year and we got fall instead of summer!

The tulle does make for a nice collage layer, I agree.
