A little glue does a body good ~

I finally wandered back into my studio yesterday....
It felt good to play again.
I was slapping glue on everything ~
covering things with wonderful old sheet music
aged by time....

Here's one of those Mud Pie boxes I snagged at a yard sale ~
they're like small hat boxes....
I applied gesso first because I wasn't sure how light or
dark my covering would be.

Now covered and drying. I haven't a clue what I plan on doing with it
but I'm sure I'll come up with something ~

I won't say what the little thing below is :) ~ but I covered it a little
differently than the others I've made.

And the small canvas I found at Hobby Lobby?
It's on it's way to becoming something totally different...
the first layer?
Good ol' kraft wrap.

And do you know what's more wonderful than
an amazing old typewriter??

An amazing old typewriter that actually types!!!!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Hey Dawn,
There's definitely something about playing with glue! Once I get started, I want to glue everything! I think the 'unknown' object is a peat pot! Right? Well we'll just have to wait and see!

Seems these days I'm at my best when I'm in my studio puttering around. I've been out from work on Short Term Disability, and I've been so happy spending my days creating things. You are always a source of inspiration! Thanks!
Blessings,
Susie

Wish I could "catch" whatever you came down with to get me back into being creative. I've been so uncreative lately. Maybe I should spend some time surfing around my fave creative blogs - like yours! - to get those juices flowing.

I'm so jealous of your typewriter! I've always wanted an old one like that. Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to stumble upon one.

Can't wait to see what you do with the beginnings of your new creations.

Have a great day!

Your creations came out great! I have an old working typewriter too. A very fun, decorative piece to keep on an old desk:)

Dawn,
Sheet music & matte gel can make anything look amazing. Love the mud pie boxes, never seen them before. Where have I been? I think I see a 'p' word in there, hummmm & could it be a little soapbox??? That typewriter is gorgeous. I remember when you found it for the space, I knew that sucker would end up in the studio. I'd like to find one. Question, can you still find ribbon to replace? There is no font as cool as the real deal. Have a great day with Clara. Lisa

I see a soapbox in the making there. Can't wait to see all of the creations with those. The old typewriter is a gem, wish I could find one. One question, How Many Peat Pots Do You Have??????

I can feel your happiness at creating through your posts, Dawn! Are we avoiding the "p" word then? : ) It looks lovely with the sheet music, anyway. I've been saving some sturdy envelope boxes from the day job to decorate. I did one for a swap and they hold up really well to paint and glue.

Loved the nest with the eggs & feathers! And also the typewriter. I bought a wonderful old Underwood just for display but, haven't tried to type with it yet. Do you have any idea where we would find old ribbons for them? HUGS! Charlene

Hi Dawn.
Love your little boxes covered with music paper, or an paper actually!

If you get a chance to come by,
I want you to see how your wonderful work has influenced me. I've loved your little pocket nests (well, that's what I call them), so I did a couple of collages with them.
I just love my new found freedom in putting various things together.

Thanks so much for your inspiration, and for sharing so much with others.
