It's time to get busy!

I've been avoiding it but today I'm going to get busy
cleaning up the studio!!
Karen's blog party "Where Bloggers Create II"
is this coming Saturday and I want to participate ~

I need to get my buttons in their jars....
my mounds of fabric put on the shelves....
and generally clean up my piles.

Do you do that?
End up with piles around with random stuff in them?
The key is to put the things away THEN to remember
where I put them!

Maybe my post title Saturday should be:
Where Hoarders Create!!!

Have a wonderful Monday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

I'm also in a panic I still have lots of fabric to fold and put away, and cleaning to do. Your so right the key to cleaning and putting away is to be able to find it later, I spend the majority I my time looking for things!!! Hope you have a wonderful week!!!

Where Hoarders Create ... I think you might be onto something. I'm developing a wee small method of putting my piles into things.

I took photos of my space today but need to take more tomorrow... Darn lighting and blurry pics ;)

If it didn't require such a Type A personality (which I don't have) I'd create a treasure map of my studio as a reference guide to use in 'times of emergency'. You know, like when you need that one perfect piece of vintage lace purchased at that one weekend antique fair from that really great vendor with all the colorful stories...yeah that piece of lace and I still can't find it..lol.

Can't wait to see your very organized studio next weekend!

Oh Dawn,
so happy to see your "piles" wait till you see mine, sweetie- Have to turn my camera in many difficult directions, not to get all the plastic bags,on the floor with fabric inside,on the photoes-no place on my shells anymore,-and do you think, I can throw away??? NO ,NO -old patchwork fabric maybe 20 years are still on my shells,-and then all the very old fabrick from fleamarkets collected for years now, --well you will not never find a fully cleaned up workplace here--Happy work my dearest friend :)
Many hugs and love, Dorthe

I, too, have been working on my "room" for the past week. My conversations with myself have involved a lot of chastising for "accumulating too much stuff!" Where Hoarders Create made me laugh out loud! A perfect description here! Hope I finish before Friday! Good luck to you, too, Dawn!

What fun stuff you have there, my dear! I'd be totally embarassed if anyone saw my studio right now! I had a pretty creative weekend, and I'm sitting here looking at a big mess....I need some drawers like yours!

I think you should start a 'linky' party "Where Hoarders Create"...what ya think?
Thanks for being real...
Blessings,
Susie

Hi Dawn: I can certainly relate. Seems I spend inordinate amounts of time just trying to FIND my things! I purchased the sweetest berry bowls on my last trip to Wisconsin and I've been trying to find them for the past month! Perhaps I should just gut the entire studio and start over!
Looking forward to seeing your studio this weekend.
xoxo

Can't wait to see your freshened up inspiring space. I am totally bummed at not having my new studio up and running. I so wanted to feature it at Karen's party. If I am up to it this week I might still make the party deadline. I hope you have a wonderful week Dawn!

I'll be cleaning up my studio all week too! It's such a disaster, and I think I may still have to move piles of things out of the way of the camera and then back again as I photograph the room. ::Jill

I totally understand what you're talking about! Hoarders indeed!

I don't think my space will be ready for the Where Bloggers create Party but I sure will enjoy visiting all the blogs that are participating! I can't wait to see your place!

I go through cycles. Very organized leads to somewhat organized then randomly organized and finally sheer chaos until I clean it all up and start over again. Lately, I have started photographing new supplies and organizing them in a binder. then, when I start a new project, I pull it out and there it is everything i own. The best part of this system is that it is portable. i can take it to the beach, outside to watch my dogs play, to the doctor while I wait, etc. Organization is a topic everyone can relate to Dawn!

Think of the service you provide - for all of us who vicariously live a "collecting" life through your photos and wonderful stashes from the studio!

Yup, we're running on the same track; although, I have no intention of participating in a party. I'll look for your participation, though!

I'm looking forward to seeing your studio, Dawn! As well as everyone else who has an actual room! I have my little spot in the garage, but I have made it my own - that's what I'll be sharing.

Thanks for sharing this fun post. Yes, my art room looks like an explosion of things. Every time I glance at the hoarders program, gulp...It really makes me want to clean. Where Hoarder's Create, I like that, it makes me feel better to know that I am not alone.

Happy cleaning, your organization still looks better than mine. See you next Saturday.

Can't wait to see where your fabulous creations are given life! Oh, and I could certainly be a part of your blog party, "Where Hoarders Create" for sure!

Have fun with your clean up!!! :o)

Too durn funny Dawn! I ALWAYS have piles and can NEVER find anything when I clean up and put away. I've even labeled storage boxes and bins, and still manage to hide every lil ole thing I want to work with from myself. It's such a shame, really, because once the muse taps on my door, she's long gone by the time I've re-conned all my supplies. LOL I can't wait to see all the inspiration waiting via "Where Bloggers Create"! xoxo Andy

Dawn,
I'm with you lots to clean up and photograph before Saturday. If you start a Where Hoarders Create, we won't have to cleanup and maybe would even have to bring a few more things in. You are on to something my friend. If you start it they will join. As a matter of fact Sign Me Up!

Just delightful to see you, too, love your treasures out. I think I may have to document that process in my party post. I love my bits and bobs. They inspire me to create. But, I know it is when my desk is somewhat clear that the door opens wide for my creativity. So excited for the fest! See you there dear one.

Ahhhhh, I thought as much....reading the comments and noticing that it had been pretty quiet on blogland...and thinking everyone is up to their eyeballs cleaning up their studios and surveying mountains of collected treasures. Not that I would know anyone who would be doing the same thing ;)

I am so glad that you will be participating - I can hardly wait to stop by for a visit. "she" has already warned Dad that her permanent spot on Saturday will be in front of the computer :) And I get a front row seat...

BTW - start up Where Hoarders Create and I promise you I will put her name on that one!

Purrs!

My dearest friend,
Your studio is wonderful, I'd give anything to stuff my hand in that bucket of keys, domino's & other goodies & stuff it all in my pocket! I think my friend Ruth was a bit hurt when she read my comments calling her a hoarder. I had to explain that hoarder is a pet name we give ourselves. Only the coolest can be hoarders. Otherwise, your just an old collector. LOL Lisa

Hi sweet Dawn...I didn't mean to be away from your blog for so long. I always miss so much when I am away. It looks like you have things rouned up beautifully. I just have enjoyed so much seeing your pretty things in this post. You create with such unique items and that's why your art is so amazing. I can't wait to see your space at the party. Mine is one big mess right now. I love the 'hoarders' reference. hehe

I agree too! I spend so much time trying to organize all my beauties I have collected, I have no time to get things made in my head. I am called a hoarder but I am a clean hoarder compared to the TV show.

I have bins full not drawers full, enough for a lifetime I am sure.

I would love to go rummaging through your jars and boxes!!

Dawn, Lots of heads were nodding up and down on your hoarder comment {including mine}! I think it is a trait that runs rampant in people who like to create. But after watching a few episodes of the TV show about hoarders it made me cringe a little. Not enough to stop looking for good bargains mind you...but just a little! I can't wait for the party. Such a wonderful turnout. xo, Sue
