It's funny what catches my eye.....

When I'm out junkin', I'm attracted to the strangest things!!!
I guess I shouldn't be surprised ~ I've done this for years....
These old capiz shell coasters had to come home with me
the other day. After spoofing up our space a little
I always have to browse around Antique Griffin to see if there's
anything I just can't live without :)
I can see them transformed into the most beautiful
Christmas ornaments....they're light as a feather too!

A few more goodies found:
An old ledger
An old receipt book
and an old book with the pages falling out....

I received the most wonderful goodies in the mail the other day....
from my sweet friend Marcy of Queen Marcy Originals!
A parcel filled with little bundles of beautiful old supplies ~

Plus a gorgeous corsage created by Rebecca of Vintage Living!
Thank you so very much Marcy for the wonderful treasures....
I just love it all!!!

I'm not going to be able to go to Barn House this time :(
With all of the effort put into rebuilding our Shop Fun Soap business
it's just not something I can do right now.
I'm even working a few days a week at the shop shop to help :)

I've added a few items to my
Feathered Nest Shoppe
if you'd like to take a look!!!

I hope you are doing so good.
Thank you always for coming by here to see me!!!
Have a wonderful Friday and weekend precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Love the shells and that handwriting is just wonderful. I wish they still taught that style of script. I bet they don't even teach handwriting anymore.

Such goodies! I bought an old ledger from Lisa once & it is huge. I keep thinking I will use some of the pages but, just haven't gotten around to it yet. This past weekend I bought an old book with the most beautiful writing in it. I can't read a word but, the print is so pretty. HOW do you make that first tear to tear out the page for ART? I want to but... I hate to tear up an old book. Almost seems sacreligdious. Have a great weekend. HUGS!Charlene

Your peat pots are so beautiful Dawn, are you putting them in the shop? I'll bet there gone already! Lisa

Is it my imagination, or did people have much better handwriting way back when? :-)

Great finds Dawn! We need some new pics of your awesome space!

Being attracted to the strangest things is what separates you from the average Jane. It is always great fun to see what you've done to some "strange thing" turning it from a pedestrian ho-hum item to something uniquely lovely and delightful. Hope that we get to see those coasters when they get their second life.

Lovely gifts from a friend...

Dawn,
Whoever snatches up your peat pot {or any of your art} is going to love it. Despite my lack of properly thanking you, I just ADORE my baby peat pot I was lucky enough to grab from your shop. It makes me smile every time I walk by it. Your living example of family first is heartwarming! xo, Sue

Dawn,

If someone asked me to sum up how your blog makes me feel in one word, that word would be comfort. Everything that you share is so inviting and soft and breezy. I just love it!!

Oh Dawn, I LOVE YOUR WORLD! I hope that you are not afraid of me! I haven't heard from you, but I have been following you for about 2 weeks already and I so love your vision. I hope you don't think I am this strange person!!! Birds are my passion, and I want to purchase something from you soon. These lovelies here are exquisite! Do visit sometime when you get a chance. Dawn~I always love stopping by to see what new and amazing things you have found or have made. As usual they are wonderful. I especially admire the old journals with the cursive writing. They wrote so beautifully in l902.

I wonder with all the technology out there today if future generations will ever look at writing in the same way.

Blessings friend,

Jo
