THIS my precious friends, is why I blog.....

An email I recently receive from a friend:

Dawn,

I wanted to answer your precious reply. I want you to know what your kind words and encouragement has meant to me...

I have to tell you that when I read you very sweet reply and your words of encouragement, I just sat there and wept. I have been soooo torn and insecure about this.  I just feel that there must be a way to bring some extra money doing what I love and I see these beautiful sites and the close knit family, helping each other and I have wanted so much to be a part of it. Every time I mention it to one of my friends they just don't get it. I see all these beautiful blogs and hear about the wonderful friendships and creative support and it feels almost like home.Your words of support and your offer to introduce me was just what I needed. I truly believe God puts people in the right place and guides you if you just keep alert and recognize these little nudges. You really gave me hope that maybe I can do this. Soooo I've purchased a good slr digital camera, researched some of the domains (I'm thinking blogspot), I already have an Etsy site  and am close to a name. I want to get an inventory of some work, but I am going to do this. I may not be able to do it everyday as you do with working, maintaining this house inside and outside with a daughter, but I'll do it to some degree. I think this may help to fill something since my husband died. I have to work on some concepts, etc. Can I ask you in addition to the given of forming artistic creative family of friends are you really able to bring in some income. I don't mean to be mercenary, but as a widow that would be such a bonus. When my husband was alive I had a thriving mural business. Many decorators were my clients, but I can't hang off ladders for 8 hours anymore and I must maintain the regular income of my job. I'm just hoping I can have my cake and eat it too.

Your wish to have a wonderful day - hugs and love was all such a lovely thing from someone I have never met. I must have been craving those words very badly to have sat there and cried as I did, even now I am choking up. But I will tell you I think that is why I am so drawn to your blog. It is real, caring, sharing, creative and just lovely.  Everyday even when I work the first thing in the AM I do is visit you. I knew you were a kind spirit.  Bless you for your kindness.

Dawn,
That was wonderful, and I'm sure some feelings we all have one time or another in both our creative needs to express ourselves, and our need for acceptance and love.
I have found both in blogland. And, in reply to her comment about her friends not getting it, some of mine did not either.

But my true friends, of the ones I have here in Eugene, love and support me in my blogging, my store and all. They love me. They listen, and share in my joy of doing it. that is true friendship.

I hope she will find friends like that where she is too, and I hope she is successful in setting up and selling her things. I cannot wait to see what she does.

blessings sweet friend. I so agree with all she says about you, and grateful for all you do and who you are.

I totally understand what you're saying, Dawn, and your blogging friend's letter proves that we touch unknown lives "out there" when we do this! You just never know when little words of encouragement have helped someone in distress to once again feel that life has something special to offer just for them...a something that helps them to become the unique person God intended for them to be. And YOU do that all the time for people...
I know how inspired I've been in knowing you.

Blessings! You deserve them, as does your friend who wrote this beautiful letter.

Dawn, Thanks for sharing your world with us and validating that it is filled with caring, loving and kind people. One of the things I love about the blogosphere is that you get the opportunity to see the best in mankind. Media of other forms can be filled with the dark side of human nature, so it is a breathe of fresh air to hear from all of the wonderful people filling this earth and you are one of them. Blessings - Julie

Ditto...it is also why I blog. The Lakota phrase "Mitakuye Oyasin" translates as "All are my relations". We are all truly related. Sea Witch

It is very touching to read a letter like that.
I think we all have to thank the blogging community for something or other, be it the incredible generosity, appreciation of our creations, encouragement, criticism, sometimes a shoulder to cry on and a place to vent. I am so glad to be part of it.

I could have written that note. The words are what I feel. I had no idea what support and amazing unmet friends that awaited me when I first started, when I wrote my first post. Seeing what others were doing, making their dreams come true, or at least trying.... and the support they receive from our wonderful creative blogging community has encouraged me to finally open my own shop. Thank you

Dawn.. what a precious letter. I am with everyone, blogs and bloggers bring so much more then people understand. I get such a creative jolt from these blogs. Some make me want to be closer to god, bake cookies with my daughters, forgive a friend, create something pretty...
and all of them make me stop and enjoy the little things each day.

I do enjoy my coffee in the mornings by reading the blogs that came in overnight and your is certainly one of the first Dawn. You are inspiring and your work in enlightening, the perfect way to start the day.

You post about the Victoria magazine is just what I need alot of the time. I guess that is why I save and Collect so many magazine. It is like therapy to thrum back through them and the same way with blogging. One leads to another and then so on, making new friends all along the way.
Blessings to your admirer and I will also give prayer for her to be sucessful as desired.

I think I will include myself in that too. It would be so nice and helpful.

I can't wait for your friend to start her blog and to be able to meet her. I am relatively new to blogging and have met so many wonderful people! I have few friends because of my work schedule and many people here where I live do not share my interests so blogging has become a life saver for me!! To see that there are others in this world who share my interests and are actually interested in what I like to do has touched my heart in ways that I can't even imagine!! So please tell your friend to jump in and start having some fun!!

Dawn, Thank you for sharing that beautiful letter! I think many of us who came into blogging have had some of the same feelings and questions.

After all this time, I am finally formulating my plans. I've had an Etsy name for a while. I've never sold from there, but just used it to occasionally buy some little object I fell in love with. I have been inspired by your blog... your ideas, your generosity, and your spirit! You are so right about the desire to find kindred spirits!

Bless you for sharing from your heart!
Nita Jo
