There's something so calming about cream ~

Don't you think?? Creams, whites and beiges ~
they all have such a calmness about them.

After deciding to put the treadmill in our bedroom,
our giant bookcase that was in there
had to be moved out and into
our guest room.

Well, after getting all the books
placed back in the shelf (can you tell I love them?!),
I decided I wanted to finally start adding some treasures to the room!
I hung these beautiful old prints over the bed
(which are still not quite even)...
Remember the mirror I added the toile wallpaper to the back?
I rested it on top of the book shelf....then....
I began digging around for a few beautiful things
to bring into this calming guest room.

I need more fluffy pillows on the bed....

I've still not decided what to place inside
of the white band that goes around the room.
It used to be a border that we painted over....Maybe old photos?

I love this artwork of Ann's....it seemed perfect for this space ~

A beautiful gift arrived today from Vicki of 2 Bags Full....
this wonderful handmade nest!!!!! Can you believe how gorgeous it is????
Thank you so much precious Vicki, the nest is
so very beautiful and I will treasure it always!!!!

Have a wonderful Tuesday precious friends!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Your bedroom is so sweet. It is very much a reflection of you and that is how rooms should be. I love all of your vintage items and treasures set up in little vignettes...so pretty.

I love creams too. I have a bit of color phobia but I think pastels are every bit a color as the brighter ones. Love that bookshelf. That adds some nice pops of color and makes your room your very own to spend time in.

Very nice!

Your bedroom is very calming...just lovely. How does one decorate a treadmill? ;>

That nest is amazing! Vicki is some kind of wonderful bird for certain!

in the past I have always been drawn to deeper, richer colors but of late have come to really like the creams and tans, they are indeed quite comforting. I am so glad to know I am not the only book hoarder here in blogland, I just love my books :)

Love the soft look in your guest room, Dawn! I also love how the darker pieces, like the headboard, pop off that wall color. You could do a vinyl saying/quote/phrase in a romantic, soft-looking font that applies to guests on that white striped area.

Being a guest in you guest room would be a wonderful thing ~ it's such a lovely room! I love the little cloche displays. Too sweet!!

You've been in my prayers this week Dawn....

Maybe you could offer a sepia ink pen to your guests and some old ledger paper or stationary with small stamped images on them and invite them to write a word or two about what it means to stay there ...

And you could get them started with a couple of samples....

Your guest room makes me want to drive down right now! I say leave the border plain...or maybe just some embossed paper in the same color...heck, why are you asking ME?

Awesome room! The border would look great with old photos,,I probably would head for the copy machine and make my own border...I havent seen that done...and you would have an original one of a kind border. Too fun! I will be starting on the spare room soon and you are so inspirational.
