I find myself buying the strangest things!

My brain is always churning...scary, huh???
No, but really...I'm always trying to think of things to make,
create and ways to put things together.
I find myself yearning for the ultimate hardware store!!!

Well, I took a little trip to Lowe's and found
more perfect little tack nails that I love using in my artwork.
Plus a few other nails too!! I think I have a thing for nails....

So while I'm strolling down the isles in Lowes,
I go past the the lighting isle where there's every light bulb known to man
and see these glass globes ~ don't you love their retro look???
I'm thinking with a little wire wrapped around the top
and a hanger attached,
how neat they would the be as hanging vases or
sweet hanging candle holders on the patio or deck?

And a teeny scrap of brown eyelash fringe from Hob Lob....
less than two bucks.
I'm not exactly sure what I'll use it for.... but by golly,
I'll have it when I need it!!!!

So as I return home from my treasure hunting and empty my bags.....
there is no rhyme, and definitely no reason.....
and it all just looks to be a pile of junk ~
But oh well....no matter, it still looks like a pile of treasures to me!!!

And a couple of sweet new bloggers for you to visit and welcome ~

First, Sandy of Peridots Garden Blog....
I just love new bloggers...

If you have time,
I would LOVE for you to stop in

Wishing you a wonderful Tuesday precious friends,
hugs and love,

Nothing strange about your purchases at all. And I bet we won't have to wait too long before we see you using that fun eyelash fringe.

I understand your shopping excursions completely! As you know my last project involved and old feed sack, a bottle stopper, and a vintage receipt holder. I had no idea when go them that they would marry into a project down the line, I just liked them - go figure!

I love how freely you share your ideas and inspirations here. Thank you for that. I am off to welcome new friends to the neighborhood! Have a great day!

Not strange one bit, unless you are calling me strange. I bought the same little tack nails week before last, and last week bought some of the copper colored ones. They are awesome!

Dawn,
I can't wait to see what you do with your 'supplies'. I love those tacks. I use them in all of my collages, so old fashioned. I have been out of the blogging loop the last couple of days so I missed some posts. Your roses are beautiful, hope you had a lovely VD!! We artist/bloggers are a funny bunch. I read a few blogs today & so many girls got gifts like tool kits, heat guns, hard drives. Our boys know what makes us tick huh? Have an awesome day friend! Lisa

Hi Dawn,
Thanks for telling us of new bloggers.
I'll be sure to go visit.

Love the picture at the top of this post!!!

And, great about your piles of treasures from Lowe's and Hob Lob.

I go through old junky stores and get similar things, just greasy, and rusty. =))
So, you do not sound so weird to me.

Hi Dawn!! I love the new blogs you introduced us to. How fun to meet so many new people.
The glass globes are darling. It would be fun to decoupage with some beautiful tissue paper for the light to shine through as well!

Dawn, Your shopping trip sounds much like mine. I always seem to get things that I feel would make such an interesting design. I can't begin to tell you how many little things I have picked up and not done anything with.
Have a wonderful week,

I'm with you there. If it looks interesting you just have to take it home. I found some cute little metal rosettes that are used for hanging wall mirrors, instead of those plastic bracket things. Haven't figured out how I want to use them but they've got to be good for something. I didn't think to check out the globes section.

Dawn, they may be "strange things" when you buy them, but after you get them they always turn into something gorgeous!!!! Have a good week.

Hi Dawn, Heck they all look like treasures to me! I'm sure you'll come up with some kind of beautiful completed piece. Now if I could just convince my husband of the fact I NEED all these things, yes even that leftover decoractive cardboard from the frozen dinner I just ate! Take care, Deb Plapp
