A few small changes make a BIG difference!

Here's a sweet bird image that I've given to you before ~
but just in case you didn't grab him then....here he is again!

I've been really busy!!! The color on the back wall of our antique space
at Antique Griffin was a very bright blue and SO not me.
(like it's MY space but I have kind of taken over, sorry honey :)
I bought a really pretty cream color and was able to get it painted finally.
Here are a few before and after shots....it took THREE coats!!
I know I should have primed it first but
I just didn't want to buy more paint and rollers....

And here's the after, much better!!
The shelves come with the space
(it's really just a corner space...)
but the red background had to go too.
Rather than have to paint all of it,
I'm putting burlap covers
over the backs of each opening!!
I love it ~ and think it gives a nice contrast to the cream!

You can see below how tiny it really is!
Now to get busy covering the rest
of the shelf backs and loading stuff in ~

And one of the hazards of painting was
"having" to shop while each coat dried!!!
Look at the beautiful figures I found ~
You may not see the beauty but I just LOVE them!!!
The photos aren't the best I've ever taken either ~
They just had to come home with me,
I'm a freak for statues and figural things.

And this little vanilla vase
had to come home with me as well....
sweet huh?

A couple of giveaways and a wonderful project for you!

Sandi of Wayside Treasures is having a giveaway HERE ~

Patina Soul is have a birthday giveaway HERE ~

And Mitzi of Mitzi's Collectibles is sharing a wonderful FREE project HERE!!

On my last post, I promise I didn't have any
negative input from anyone.
It was just a rough day and I realized
why I love blogging so much....
to escape and to be inspired!!!
Thank you SO MUCH for your amazing, uplifting comments!

Wishing you a great Thursday precious friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

Oh dear - that blue couldn't even pass as robin's egg blue. That was some kind of blue and so NOT you! It's looking great, can't wait to see the shelves "fixed" Dawn style and the booth stocked! As for the corner booth....I have expanded to include a corner booth (thank you so much Rowann, you're the best) and oh my gosh Dawn, you are going to LOVE having the corner! Go Dawn Go!

What a difference a coat of paint (or three) makes! And love the burlap in the back of the shelves. I love the way you made it "your own" and hubby does too, I'll bet!

Dawn,

I'll bet when you are through that your hubby will be glad you took over and beautified the space as only you can do. He will be equally happy that your sense of style will draw buyers into the booth! It is looking great.

Your space looks so much better...You might want to put something lacey along the top to block off the blue behind you. I have done my fare share of craft fairs and know what its like to want it to look just so! The two aged figurines look as if they have a dusting of snow on them...sweet. By the way I love the name of your shop...my dog's name is Griffin!

It is scary but I know exactly which space it is in just from the photos. Can't wait to see your goodies in it. We repainted at High Cotton too and it was a bright blue- what is up with that? Hoping to get set up tomorrow.

Oh yes! It's looking great already and by the time you're finished...can't wait. Oh and the hazards of being near treasures so often...that's why I've never worked in an ice cream shop. Ha! Have great fun with it and thank you for the pretty image.

I've just been scrolling through your blog thinking, isn't it nice how Dawn always has such great bird images- but I guess it makes sense, after all this IS The Feathered Nest.

(I'm excited to see your antique booth in action)

LOVE the "Sorry Sweetie"!

The white wall and the burlap on the back of the shelves are fantastic...the burlap's texture has a earthy feeling to it and accentuates the gossimer quality of your artwork and treasures!

love your treasures, too!

The space looks so much brighter with the new coats of paint. How wonderful that you had to take shopping breaks while it dried! Those statues are so sweet. Love the profile on the little girl! As always, thank you for sharing!
