To give is to love ~

I expect to pass through life but once.
If therefore, there be any kindness I can show,
or any good thing I can do to any fellow being,
let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it,
as I shall not pass this way again.

~ WILLIAM PENN ~

Over 30 years ago (ugh....yes, I am that old)
my high school senior class went on a cruise.
The cruise was in the Caribbean and one of the stops our ship made
was Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
I will never forget how beautiful the water was coming into port....
and how sad the little children were that came up to the ship
in small boats just begging for one quarter or other small change.

The earthquake that has recently hit this already poverty stricken place
has left the Haitians in ruins.....
I know our economy is rough right now and
financially things are so tight after Christmas
but even just 10.00 can make a world of difference
to help these precious people.
~ Here is a link to the American Red Cross website ~

Many artists are also selling their creations
in hopes of raising money for the relief effort.
Cheryl of ZanyMayd is donating 25% of her Etsy shoppe sales....
Just click here to visit her store. She will be filling it up shortly!

Rebecca Sower JUST returned from visiting Haiti
with her woman's ministry and met
so many families if you'd like to read about her experience HERE.

We can do no great things, only small things with great love.

Luke 6:38
Give, and it will be given to you.
A good measure, pressed down, shaken together
and running over, will be poured into your lap.
For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Dawn

Dawn,
I just read Cheryls post and grabbed the red cross button too. I was thinking how awesome it would be to get everyone to donate a piece of art & have an auction for Haiti. If you hear about something like that please let me know. I'd love to donate. In the meantime I'll donate what I can & pray for those unfortunate souls. Lisa

What a wonderful post, Dawn. Beautiful. Thank you for your sweet words to me too. You know, giving to others is really the best gift we can give ourselves, I know you agree. And I think that gifts to Haiti will make a huge difference to them.

Hugs,

You are so good Dawn, thank you for sharing this with us. We are donating this evening. We waited till today because it is payday and we wanted to give more. We who have much should find away to give to the least. It is hard to think of a people that already has so little could go through so much. I hope that God has planted a seed in us all so that we know how much we really do have. These are hard times for so many, I am blessed. And you are blessed to be a blessing, Mary

Hi sweet,

Yes it surely is a terribly situation for all theese people, and your thought of us all just giving what we can, even it is not much, will be something big together, is beautifull.
We really do have so much more than the Haitians.

THANKS FOR YOUR BEAUTIFULL POST DEAR DAWN.

LOVE AND HUGS, DORTHE

Dawn amor, this is a beautiful post...I pray for everyone there...seeing everyone giving so much is so heart lifting...I only wish we as a people could do the same here for our children that are on our own streets hungry too...If we give even $5 each to Haiti...can you imagine the impact if everyone did that? After all this...we should all do that for our homeless and hungry here too...even just $1 each...I can only imagine what that could do. Besos, Rose

Ps. Dawn amor, I hope I don't sound uncaring for what is going on in Haiti, my heart hurts for them...and I truly love what everyone is doing for Haiti..it is much needed and even if we are all having such tough economic times right now...we are still so fortunate compared to what they suffer there and in other poor nations..but as I drive by some streets where I see people living on the side of the road in tents with families...it just breaks my heart and makes me think...this is the United States...homeless hungry children in our own streets...should be unacceptable...
