I love a little change!

The birds have nothing to do with this post but I couldn't start my post off with the photo below!!! Our lovely kitchen back splash or lack thereof has made me miserable for years now and it was time for a change, a simple change, but definitely one for the better ~

BEFORE:
Lovely flat paint that absorbed every little splash and drop.....

AFTER!
Simple vinyl peel and stick tiles that look like beautiful stone!
Our son Brad did it for me in a few short hours and the difference is just amazing!

Edited to add: Be sure you caulk above and below plus I've added several finish nails to secure the tiles, they are really supposed to be on the floor!

A few giveaways for you too!!!

First, Linda at Robin's Egg Blues is having a giveaway
celebrating her 100th post!!

The tiles look great I wonder if they could be used behind the stove.

Can I borrow Brad? He could probably work his magic in my studio in no time. What a great, simple change, it really looks so warm and inviting. The clean up will be so easy to. Is he going to contribute to your book too? It looks like creativity runs in the family.

That stick on tile for your back splash is amazing!!
Never knew there was such a thing for walls,(or maybe it is for floors and someone was smart enough to think of it for the wall too.) =0)

Thank you! I have the same problem. When we built our house, that wasn't something too important at the time. Big mistake and I have the same flat paint, spotted now. I have been helping my Sister with her house after being flooded and am real familiar with the tiles you are talking about. Never thought to use that as the backsplash. Thank you a bunch!!!!!

THAT IS A VERY CLEVER SOLUTION! THANKS FOR SHARING.

BTW, DO YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW IN AND OUTSIDE OF BLOGLAND, HAVE ANY TALLOWBERRIES THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SELL? PERHAPS THERE IS A SHORTAGE THIS YEAR, BECAUSE MY USUAL SUPPLIER IS NOT OFFERING IT THIS YEAR.
HAVE A GREAT WEDNESDAY, JUDY
