How could you not love this face?

The minute I saw her I knew she would be coming home with me!!!! Plus she was on sale! A few days ago I went antiquing and came across this little doll. Don't you just love her? Dressed in an odd outfit but that was charming to me as well. A tiny sweater with one button, tied off at the neck. A handmade apron smaller than a playing card and a big ol' diaper....sweetness.

She makes me smile ~

These two tiny cloches aren't new but for just a couple dollars a piece at Ross, I knew they would keep these little nests cozy ~ one, my sweet friend Joy made (left) and the other, my sweet friend Rose sent me (right), a real hummingbird's nest ~

I found an old Country Home magazine while out antiquing.... only .50 cents ~
it was when the magazine was wonderful....

Another precious find, on my back deck....this little guy had passed away
and I just had to keep him ~ such a beautiful creature.....

Thank you all so much for such sweet comments
about my new bed and armoire!!!! I'm so excited...
and still working to get everything in place but
you can be sure I'll post about it when I do ~ I'm also cleaning as I go!

Noah's out of school next week for fall break ~
that's why they started the first of August...
these breaks are WONDERFUL when they roll around every six weeks!!

Wishing you a great Friday dear friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

Your doll is sweet. Looks almost like my wetting and drinking doll that I have. Only is the body of her went to dust..but I have the head and she is beautiful. Anyway..those nests are darling.A friend of mine had to have his dog put to sleep a couple wks ago...well he brought into the Rusty Pelican (Where I have my antique space) store and handed the owner this small bird nest out of his tree. Well inside was his little dogs hair that the bird had used..I would have loved to have had a nest with my dogs hair in it..to remember him by. His was small like the hummingbird one you showed.Looks like it might have hair in it also..actually looks the same. I love you blog. Now I just have to get to posting. I finished a Sign Honeymoon Inn with white roses so will get a pic as soon as I have a day off from babysitting my sweet Hattie Jane. Hugs Sally

The doll is precious! I can see why she jumped into your arms. Hmmm, I may have to check out Ross. I loved it when Country Home did those beautiful "fabric" bindings. Still love Country Home. :-( Have a great Friday!

Aww Dawn, your new bebe is just gorgeous...but you showed all the clothes by themselves but you forgot to show the bebe neki :) Sorry since I was a kid I have the bad habit of undressing my dolls as soon as I get them home :) I dress them back up of course...but there is nothing like a neki bebe doll :) Sadly I passed that on to my kids, I have dollys with no clothes every where :) I just knew that you would love that lil humming bird nest as much as I did when I sent it to you :) I think we are about to get a few more...I will keep you updated on that. I will also have to make a trip to Ross, all the cloches that I found were quite alot bigger than that...I had to enlarge the picture of that butterfly...poor thing..but it is sooo gorgeous that I thought it was actually hand painted :) Rose

What a gorgeous doll. I have one a little like her that my mother brought out to Australia as a young girl nearly60 years ago. She is lovely and has tin teeth and glass eyes. I love her she is so old. And what an amazing butterfly!! I would have loved to see him winging around the garden.

Hi Dawn,

I am still catching up from yesterday. WOW, what a steal on that bed. It is good to know that you can still find some beautiful things at a great price. Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy!!! I look forward to seeing how you dress it up in your room.
The doll is very sweet. I like how chippy she is. She will look cute in your studio looking down upon you from some little nook you have just special for her.
Have a great weekend.

What a sweet doll! She is so precious - of course you had to get her! I miss Country Home - but I've saved most of them and plan to curl up with all of them when it gets colder outside!

I have never found a hummingbird nest - I am always on the lookout for them. That truly is a special prize. The Luna Moth is great too. You know my daughter studies bugs at UGA (getting her Masters in Entomology) and we collect bugs all the time. They are all amazing creatures- Some are just prettier than others. :-). Joy

She's definitely someone who make life sweeter. I would've snatched her right up.

Is that a moth or a butterfly? How beautiful.

If you have the time, please stop by The Old Parsonage, I love company.

Enjoy!

What a precious little doll! I don't blame you for taking her home. I always enjoy looking at your treasures. I'm glad you saved the butterfly... such beautiful coloring! Do you wonder if butterflies get heavenly wings? It's hard to imagine anything better than what he had here...
