The Honey Maker ~

I don't know why I love for my artwork
to have some sort of message, but I do.
We need little reminders in our day
to keep our thoughts on track...
there's always so much going on around us.

Sometimes it may be just one word,
a simple verse
or even a poem
but encouragement is a wonderful thing to me ~

I finally finished my bee assemblage!!
I've called it "The Honey Maker" ~ fitting, right?
I've used several different elements on this one but it's still simple.
Of course the little skep you've seen!
The bee (which I know is a bumble bee but I like his plumpness!)
is mounted on a handmade spring so it stands away from the background.

Can you see the beautiful backdrop
that is on top of the ledger paper?
It's one of the beautiful images
that Mary of Green Paper has in
her image shop ~

Since I can't hardly stand to use the actual old cabinet cards in my artwork,
I appreciate the images she's put together!

Simple elements, simple words....
to encourage us to remember to be kind to each other when we speak....

SOLD ~ Thank you so much!!!

I wanted to let you know the glue
I love to use so much is Fabric-Tac....
it's holding the glass jar on my metal tray (on the giveaway artwork)
plus it's holding the metal key plate on the tray as well,
believe me, it's not just for fabric!

Thank you all so very much
for the wonderful comments on the giveaway!!!
You are the most precious friends ever!!!!
And see, you made me want to make something again today!

This coming February, I will have been blogging three years now....
which is one of the reasons I have so many posts!
Another reason?
I love it...

Wishing you an amazing Friday sweet friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

I love this collage. Love it.I thought your bee skep was bigger didnt realize it. It is just great.I wonder about painting bees and making something like this...So many ideas and I need to have time to do them. I just went to an estate sale last weekend and actually got free this huge cone of Wasp nest. All those layers of wasps cones inside..with a tree branch sticking out on each end. So I took it into my antique store where I rent a space. The owner has it on display. Gosh can I ramble. Sally

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I'm glad to see that you must not be affected by the flooding. A funny story...

Robert was watching the news with me when the flood came on about Georgia. My son said, "Mama, don't you have a friend there?" (I had shared with him and Sarah that you live not too far from the airport we flew into this past summer). Sarah then jumped up and checked your blog to see if you were posting. She came back to say that you must be okay.

See, there are people in Utah who care about you, friend! :)
