For the love of clocks ~

Of of the many things I love and collect are clocks.
My husband loves them too, which is a good thing!

I was in The Plum Tree the other day and
saw this wonderful clock and just loved it ~
the graphics are so beautiful, the patina....and it's brand new!!
It is new but I don't care, the look is so what I love
and have in our home, it should fit right in ~

A gift bag with a little treasure inside that I put together
for a sweet someone who has the gift of generosity ~

My first attempt at embossing today! I can see places I missed but STILL... isn't it lovely???

Something else I seem to be enamored with lately are vintage pincushions.
Look at this gorgeous one I found on ebay....

And last but not least on this completely random post
is that I've finally started my bee assemblage.....starting is good.

Wishing you a wonderful, relaxing weekend dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

What a great clock! I love old clocks. Have one in my garage that needs a cleaning and repair. I may just clean it and bring it in for decor for now. Your embossing looks great. I'm looking forward to watching your progress on the bee assemblage.

Blessings!

Hi Dawn, I think your old/new clock is great. But I really like your embossing. Just makes me want to touch the screen to feel it's richness. Enjoy your weekend. Sally
P.S. Sorry about the deleted message, I should really have BOTH eyes open when typing!

That clock is great, Dawn. It does look old! Love that pincushion ~ I'll bet you could put something like that together. I have a project I hope to be working on this weekend for my guest bedroom that I'm eager to start.

Dawn, Great job on your embossing. I love the look of that.

Love you 'old' clock too. I'm with you, who cares if it is new or old if it has the look you want.
Cute gift bag.
I appreciate your comment about my creativity.
The 3 projects challenge has got me busy using some things that i had piles of, and i am feeling a little more adventuresome about my art.
People seem to like the buckles framed. Who would think?

Blessings and thanks again for coming by.
I am always blessed by your visits.

Love, love, love. Love the clock. The benefit of it looking old, but being new is that it works and you won't have to fiddle with the workings to keep it running. I think your embossing is beautiful, flaws and all. I can't even tell. I'm wondering what you're going to do with it? Hmmm. . . can't wait to see!

I love the 'random' posts too. Who's life goes smoothly from project to project. It makes me feel a little better, since every post could be titled 'random'.
Have fun with the bee project!

HI Dawn,
So love the clock, pincushion and will certainly be anxious to see the progression of the bee assemblage. But my favorite is the embossed piece. I love to emboss on gift cards, so would love to know what embossing template you used...It kind of looks like an Anna Griffin???? Thanks for sharing all you do. Nancy in So Cal

I can't believe that clock is new! At least it really works. I sell clocks all the time and that's the first thing people ask, does it work!

Hi Dawn! Isn't it funny how we all tend to find the gals who reflect out personal styles? I too LOVE clocks and have them all over my home. Some work, some do not. I can see why you went gaga. I don't mind things that are new either as long as they fit in with a collection. I cant wait wait to see your newest art piece! Have a lovely weekend.

I love the vintage pincushion. I have 2 of them. One mother-in-law made, and one I purchased at a yard sale for $1. It was very dirty. It came out beautiful after a gentle wash in Oxy Clean.
I waqs just reading one of your older posts, about surrounding yourself with things you love.
I agree, even the simplist little things make me happy to look at. I found the same baby shoes you have in the glass cabinet, at an antique store, that is more like an indoor flea market.
Have a great weekend!

I love clocks too! After my parents died I kept my fathers old national guard clock. It was not working but I had it restored. The clock man wanted me to sell him the clock as he said it was an heirloom and worth a great deal. I said it was worth more than money can buy. Everytime it chimes I smile and say thanks dad. I just love it. I like your embossing and the bag you made too. Sharon
