Beautiful words to live by ~

I've developed such a love for paper. Old is of course my very favorite. I love the patina and especially with wonderful handwriting! Scrapbooking paper is great too but I love mine to have an aged look because I use so many antique elements in my artwork.

Sometimes you can find paper for your art in the strangest places. See the beautiful embossed paper below? It's a paper napkin!!! I found it a while back at Tuesday Morning and knew immediately that one day I'd try to use it in some artwork. I used my fabric pinking shears to cut out the circles because they are so sharp...and to glue, I tossed them in an old shoe box face down and sprayed my Elmer's spray glue lightly on the backs. This photo is before the glue :)

I started off wanting to make some pretty tags to accompany some artwork that is heading to Somerset ~ but then I thought....why not a mini banner? As a gift for a wonderful editor that makes so many artists dreams come true....

It's fun to use things in a way that they were not originally intended ~

Beautiful words to live by, don't you think?

Happy Wednesday sweet friends ~
xxoo, Dawn

Dawn, I don't have a blog myself, but follow yours every day! I can't wait to get to my desk each morning and run check to see what might be there waiting for me! You never cease to inspire and motivate me! I know your life is busy, and how much time keeping up with this blog must take....but thank you so much! This morning is no exception...these are just gorgeous! We have very similar taste, and I am going to try something similar. Anyway....I just wanted you to know that your time spent is not in vain, I enjoy spending time here with you more than you could know! Thank you, ~nancy

Hi Dawn. I'm new to the blogging community and I've spent the last few days taking in your beautiful blog. I think the Lord sent you to inspire and encourage me. I'm amazed at what you accomplish in a day. Thank you for all of your honest sharing. I love the paper on your new garland. I seldom use things for what they were intended either.
