A little artwork in the making ~

(I've given you this image before but I had a special request from Martha for these sweet birds!)

I had a few extra images printed on fabric from my art quilt last week. Of course I saved them and knew that I would use them for something. Well, it came to me on our way home from Babies-R-Us Tuesday afternoon!!
WOW, what a wonderland for expectant moms!! Emily had the most fun registering!

I collect precious old, thin and even stained little baby dresses, in mostly whites and creams. I've been wanting to turn a few into art pieces but hadn't really figured out how. I played around a little when I returned home by taking one of my sweet dresses that I dipped in coffee, wrung out and tossed in the dryer. I'm going to make the two images into nature pockets!!! Plus I still had an adorable egg charm that can hang from a sweet twig hanger that I'll make ~ Of course I'll have to have a few goodies in the pockets, right?

We'll see how this turns out...I can already see it in my mind and I LOVE it!!!

What a wonderful response to the post about blogging tips! Thank you all so much for sharing your insight with everyone. Pictures are a very, very important aspect in my blog. I love them as large as they can be and I also size them in my photo software so when they are clicked on they can be enlarged even more!

Awards and tags are a great way to get to know one another as well. I don't do well with them myself as I have SO many blogs that I love now that I just can't possibly narrow it down to only a few. And I never want to hurt someone's feelings but not choosing them either. But if you love them, by all means participate!

To have a friend, you must first be a friend....I think if you'll keep this in mind ~ blogging will be absolutely wonderful!!

Happy Wednesday dear friends ~

xxoo, Dawn

Your blog is beautiful and inspiring -I have quite a collection of old baby dresses as well, quietly lying in a box until I found an idea of what to do with them -thank you for providing me with that inspiration.....

how darling! the possibilities are endless!! soo lovely m'dear friend. will haveta try the images in the printer once... but me & technology doesn't always mix well. i have made a small twig hanger for one of the small dresses i have. that way they come out the right size. just took some fine wire & wrapped it & made the hook/hanger thing. that way it can be adjusted to different knobs or wherever you want to hang it. love the way you inspire sweetie. will be in touch soon. hugs & blessings, vikki ♥

hey Dawn- I have some amazing dresses too. I have one in particular, not in such good shape, that I have set aside to alter. I hope to submit it at some point, but too many irons in the fire right now! hugs- Lee

Dawn, thank you so much for the sweet bird print. I've seen it on lots of your artwork, but couldn't find a copy of it. I've started a nature journal for the new year--because of yours--and can't wait to use it on one of the pages. For Christmas I asked for and received a Soldering Iron and a couple of books to learn how to make charms, jewelry, etc. I can't wait to begin. Thanks to you and several other inspirational bloggers, I intend to be more "crafty" myself this year!! Please keep the ideas coming. I love the little dress idea, can't wait to see the finished product!!

Hey Dawn,

What another great idea you've come up with! I've been saving every single nature-related image you've shared to do something special with. I've got a 2nd grandbaby on the way and if it turns out to be a girl, I just might have to make one of these little dresses too!

Happy Wednesday!!

Dawn,
Thank you for yet another wonderful item you are putting together.
I'll be so glad when my creative 'wings' open back up and I can soar again. Right now the death of my mother-in-law of 40 years has knocked me to the ground like a hurricane, hitting one of your sweet, small birds. Even the birth of our 5th grandchild is not helping much right now.
Prayers from all much appreciated.

Dawn , howprecious are these dresses , i have several and a long christening gown & o other things. one of my faves is a tin turn of the century baby rattle , that says " FOR A GOOD CHILD " - hub gifted me with it years ago it -and other little toys and books make me smile , i guess i am still a child at heart , hence country and chintz -- i love both silver and bling -and the simple vintage -- kathy - ga
