How amazing is this!!??

Imagine my surprise when sweet Shar commented on my blog this morning to let me know that my pincushions are pictured in THIS NEW spring issue of Somerset Life!!! (Thank you so much Shar) It was just a peek because they are coming in the Summer issue but what a wonderful surprise to have a look at them in print!!!

So of course, I ran out to Books-A-Million right away today and there the little things are!! I really can't believe my eyes! Plus, there is a comment I made to Jenny Doh in the mail section too!!! There are tons of great ideas in the magazine, each issue truly is a keepsake. Also, there are many wonderful bloggers featured inside this issue too, I love that!

So run, don't walk, to get your very own copy!!!

Thank you Jenny!! xxoo, Dawn

A fried green tomato field trip!!

Yesterday my husband and our youngest, Noah were watching a show I believe called "Georgia Backroads" and they visited Juliette, Georgia and The Whistle Stop Cafe. You know, where the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" was filmed. After seeing the show, they decided it would be fun to take a drive down there today. It was chilly and overcast but we set out anyway.

It didn't take us long to get there, only about 30 - 40 minutes. We visited the little shops (not too great) and then decided to sample what the cafe is famous for. After a long wait, we were finally seated and eventually were served up the famous fried green tomatoes! They really were delicious but whew, I couldn't eat them very often!

To end the day, Noah wanted us to rent the movie and we've watched it tonight. Seems only fitting that we should. So I guess you could say we've had a fried green tomato kind of a day!!!

Just look at these tiny little speckled eggs!

I stopped by my son's house today. He has this adorable little back porch with wicker furniture, wind chimes and a few other things.

Seems that a tiny little brown bird decided to build an absolutely beautiful nest inside of a feeder of all things! He noticed the construction going on and that the bird would fly off in the morning when he leaves for work. He let me snap a few photos while the moma bird was away ~
I just love the color of these little eggs!!

I even like the blurry photo of them!

Happy Friday sweet friends ~

A little inspiration ~

I'm not quite sure but I think this is a Swedish blog. I believe it is a beautiful little shop and I just love her style! Please visit Camillas Drommar and enjoy the spring inspiration!

My charms!

Here they are ~ not the most beautiful job ever but OK I guess ~ it's nuts to be a perfectionist! I used silver solder so they can be worn on a silver chain. Email me if you think you'd like one ~ 18.00 ea. plus ship. The last photo I flipped them all over to show you the backs!
xxoo

Happy Wednesday!

Here are a few photos of what I'm working on now ~ charms filled with vintage lace, speckled eggs and images of Paris! One of the egg charms will be my second gift in my 400 POST GIVEAWAY ~ I've got to solder these today plus make a few more. They can be worn on your choice of chain . . .

I bought a pair of these sweet metal cones a while back from a friend, Sharon, at The Plum Tree and use them as tie backs in my bay window. Don't you just love hydrangeas?

One other thing, I've actually been writing a few articles that will be published in a few months!!! Can you believe this? It's truly such a blessing ~

I just have to show you these sweet finds!

The other day when I took my tiny little pile of things to Antique Griffin I found these amazing treasures and just have to share them with you! Can. you. believe. this. fairy. book?????????? Dear sweet Lady Em, if something happens to me, it's all yours, you know that right??

Crumbling, pages falling out, but such a beautiful sight to me! I will not be using the original pages in my artwork only color copies and scans, as a matter of fact I will give away one later on in the week, OK? But just look at the copyright date!

I found this amazing little set of old keys ~ love them!

And this door plate, too! (I'm not sure if that's what it's called)

And look at this precious butterfly book!! Has condition issues but do you think I care? :)

This is the inside of the book. Do you notice details like this like I do? What a beautiful pattern ~

Look at the typefaces, gorgeous!

And now, look. at. the. illustrations!!!! I've pictured the prettiest ones. There aren't a lot, but the ones that are in it are so sweet to me.

And last but not least a sweet little book filled with small sheet music!

OH! And you may already have seen these beauties but I was at Target Saturday (total mad house) and saw this beautiful display of Shabby Chic goodies for sale! I did find the shoe organizers too, only 7.99 ~ not a bad price at all!

I hope I didn't blow your computer up with all of these photos ~ hope you're having a wonderful day!
