Wonderful treasures given & found ~

What a sweetheart you are Diane!!! Diane Knott of Diane's Musings gifted me one of her beautiful lavender sachet pins thanking me for her giveaway prize! Diane won the little nest baby in a jar and has it displayed with the most precious collection of baby shoes. Thank you so very much Diane, the card, the pin and the tag are all beautiful!!

I just couldn't wait to show you what my girlfriend Dawn gave me Friday, her "vintage" wedding dress!!!!! It's circa 1982 (not really vintage:) and I just LOVE all of the lace and plan on using it for future projects. Remember the Christmas ornament that said "Wish" a few posts back that was in one of the Advent Calendar pockets? Well, this is the same type lace . . . it's just gorgeous!!

I found these beautiful old books on Etsy and just loved the illustrations. I'm sure that you've figured out by now that I collect old books with bird or children's illustrations. The stories in both books are lovely too ~ I'll scan some of these for you soon too!!!

How in the world could anyone discard this beautiful book? Oh well, it was meant for me to love ~ I've been working on a few more orders and then I'm going to start on a new tutorial ~ a nature journal!
Have a great Saturday!
xxoo, Dawn

the little books are sooo sweet. since going thru all the things in the farm house, i came across my moms' wedding dress from the year 1952. so pretty with all the satin, lace, pearls! soiled in some areas ~ but still very beautiful. just last week i cut it up. cried & hated to do it, but what do u do with it? so am thinking a collage for the grandkids with bits of the dress, lace, & their wedding pic. that way we can all have a piece of the legacy. a remembrance. have a blessed week-end m'friend. hugs, vikki ♥

Most modern day illustrators just don't compare with the illustrators of older books do they? I also collect children's books and have several favorites. Thank you for sharing your titles.

The wedding gown is awesome. I can see some stunning stuff flowing from it!

Have a great day!

The stamp 'discarded', however sad, would be so cool used in something precious, giving it new meaning and a not so somber feeling. I too love old books, mostly books of poetry.

Have a wonderful sunny weekend friend.

The wedding dress is gorgeous! I have my wedding dress packed away and now wonder why...it will never ever fit again, my son got married but she couldn't wear it (6'1") and I'll have have grandchildren to pass it on to. I'll have to think about this one for a while! Your little books are sweet too! Can't wait for the new tutorial!

Oh, you are sooo lucky! I love old books, and these are especially wonderful! Do you make photo copies of the book or use the originals in your work? Just wondered because I love the look of the old paper, but have a hard time parting with the art work once done. Thanks for sharing. Deb
