Have you ever heard the saying,
"10 lbs. squeezed into a 5 lb. bag?"

That would be my artroom. I love stuff, and by that I mean supplies to create with. I don't deny it ~ I love that if I need a gift for someone special, I have the materials to create a one-of-a-kind gift for them. But we live in a 3 bedroom ranch with a bonus room over the garage. And this little extra bedroom downstairs is my artroom. I have to tell you though, I just love it!

I'm so very thankful for it, however small it is.
My husband is always patient and knows that I have to have space for my "things". I just happen to have a lot of them! I think the measures of this room are about 10' x 10' . . . I finally organized it enough to show you a few photos! It still could use a little more work ~

I came across this little guy that I made about fifteen years ago. He's made with salt dough! One Christmas I made tons of ornaments and sold them. He's all I have left of that creative binge. They were very inexpensive to make though . . . flour, salt, water, paint and sealer ~

DON'T FORGET, TODAY'S THE DAY . . .

to pop on over to Mind Wide Open and read all about the art challenge that Gail has cooked up and the prize you'll receive if you win!!!

Thank you so much for your sweet words about the Bible verse artwork. I did sell that one but am working on several others now. Hopefully I can get them into my Etsy store as soon as I can find it! Etsy has moved their servers and my internet or whatever has not found the new location. I do hope it's soon though ~

Have a great Tuesday and try to take a little time today to do something you love!

xxoo, Dawn

Dawn,
I love seeing your art room. Our rooms are about the same size, but I sure couldn't show any pictures of mine at this time. Thanks for coming by for the giveaway.
Hugs,
Bonnie

I'm wth Bonnie on this one...my room is a tad larger...but not by much...however, I think it looks like a Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Big Lots, an antique mall, a thrift store with a few garage sales thrown in for good measure just BLEW up in there...seriously, I have been trying to get into that room and do some re-arranging and organzing for a month of Sundays now...and something always gets in my way...oh well...someday...I'll have it presentable and show pics...someday...someway...

Of all the things in your room...which by the way...I would just have a "hay" day in there...looking, touching and ewwwing and awwwing over...I think the one thing that caught my eye right away...was that sweet little horse under your sewing table...It looks like a very small rocking horse or a very small carosel? pony...too sweet...however, there is a lot of competition in your lovely studio for my "favorites"...

Blessings and thanks for sharing your space!

Hi Dawn - I showed your creative space to my husband to see if he would notice its similarities to my little space. Surprisingly he did! My room is also our guest room so I try not to have more than 3 hours of clean up to do just in case someone will be dropping in overnight. Your room is so soft and pretty - just like your artwork!

really nice little room Dawn. I like the little vintage dolly dresses and the floral hot plates? on the walls. real nice. I hope to be able to eventually have a little "me space" in a new home..a place where I can craft and create.

Your room is lovely! Lots of stuff, attractively arranged. Going to do some more staring at your pics!

I can so relate to the small creating space...however, if I had more space, it would be filled as well.
May as well be content with the small area.

Your little bear reminded me of the bear switch plates I used to paint for a local store. I did special orders...bears of all types. One that comes to mind is one with a Hawaiian shirt.
:o)
Whatever...folks were into all sorts of bears 20 years ago.

Dawn....what a wonderful atmosphere you have created in your room in order to bring you into that 'place' each time you create. Thanks for sharing your room with us.

Wow Dawn your room is just lovely! And very organized compared to mine :) It is so nice to have a place to go to for creating and then keeping all those supplies in one place. That little dough bear is precious too.

Your charming space should have a sign that says "Artist at Work." It really does look like your creative world!

Dawn, I loved seeing your space to create. I am not a talented crafty girl, but people like you are challenging and motivating me to make something you can hold in your hands. For years, my main creative outlet has been party and event planning. I just love to plan a big party, especially for no reason at all. Looking at your creative space motivates me to make something that is beautiful and will last. Thanks for the peak into your Craft Central. Sloane and I actually have a crafting date for this afternoon.

"10lbs squeezed into a 5 lb bag?"

That's what it feels like everytime I put on my swimsuit! ;-Þ

Seriously, though, I love your artroom! It's so organized! My craft room began very organized. Now, it's so messy I can't bring myself to go in there. Isn't that pathetic?

I've just been catching up on 2 weeks worth of posts! What a wonderful way to spend 30 minutes! I love your craft room! I've always been of the opinion that any space - no matter the size - that you can call your own, enjoy the clutter and be creative is the most wonderful place in the house!

Keep on creating!

Blessings!

What a sweet little guy he is! I know what you mean about all the STUFF you end up with and have to find a place for. I've been doing the vere same thing. But a girl's gotta have her "space."

what is it about creative people and their messy art rooms? Everyone I know has one! We are just too busy creating and letting our minds wonder to stop and clean. I say the sign of a creative person is the room they work in - You my friend are really creative!!! and productive - be PROUD!

My creative space is 11 1/2' by 12 1/2' feet plus a double closet and I am grateful for every tiny inch of it. I have been thinking of taking photos of it for my blog but it is so uninteresting. Maybe I need to spend some creative time to make it more interesting. It is a very efficient space but because I have to have so much of it for storage of supplies, I don't have a lot of space to display things. After my daughter moves out I'll get the other half of the work space and shelving above it and I plan on only putting things that inspire me up there!

Speaking of inspiration, I come here to get plenty of it and I do plan to try my hand at some of Gail's challenges even if I don't enter them. It sounds like fun!

AHHH, you said clutter huh? Lol It is all pretty stuff. Honestly, I feel very fortunate to have my space..it is a big room. At least you are organized. I should show you were I store my supplies. currently it is a tornado room, I jsut spilled a bunch of stuff on the floor and have yet to pick it up..lol I do get frustrated when I am unorganized though!

Thanks for sharing your space, Dawn
Have a good one!

In high school my best friend's dad used to say it was like squeezing 10 lbs. of poop (only he used a different word....) in a 5 lb. bag when we would show up for school in our Sticky Finger jeans (that you had to zip up using a pair of pliers).

I have a craft CLOSET so your space looks like a palace to me. I can only hope and dream I have that much space some day.... :)
