Can you tell alot about a person by the books they read??

What if that person likes TONS of books?? What does that say? :) 99% of mine are how-to and not non-fiction although I do love a sweet love story, seems as though I don't make time to read fiction. Now if you want to tell me how to make a coat hook from an old door knob and a plank of wood, that's for me!! You can see from my collection that I love so many things. Plus I have more in my artroom....this big ol' bookcase my grandfather made (the artist) and I just love it ~ we have it on one wall of our bedroom and it's just chock full!!

I love these old button cards ~ just look at the graphics!! These are going back on my inspiration board in my artroom as soon as I pull it back down from the high spot that I've placed it . . .

A visitor to our yard the other day ~ you really got love turtles (and crab grass too!) He was headed straight for the street and Noah rescued him.

Noah and Ellie are placing him in the edge of the woods ~ a much safer place than our cul-de-sac!!

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! xxoo, Dawn

Dawn, I am like you and like to fill my bookshelves with nonfiction delights. There's nothing like sitting down with a inspiring gardening or decorating book and a hot cup of tea.

There is something about bookshelves that just makes me know all is right with the world. Books are like friends to me, and the more the merrier! I love getting to peek at the actual titles of yours, and I have to say that we are similar in that most of mine beside my bed are non-fiction. And then there's the stack of Victoria magazines... ahhh, now that's comfort.

Blessings,
Christi

I like a good romance novel now and then...have you heard of Francine Rivers? She writes wonderful Christian romance novels that can just make you swoon...

I love books and buttons. I have lots of arts and craft type books, but do mix it with fiction. I love reading novels. But once in awhile I mix them with library books and thats where I am going today. The button cards are great! I too collect buttons.

Dawn,
I see that our bookshelves could be best friends! We have similar tastes in books and have many of the same titles! I think I must be sick, seriously, my husband just called and offered to take me to a neighboring city to my favorite book store, which is not his favorite thing to do, and I said, "I don't think so!" I'm off to take my temperature and to rethink that offer!

Dawn,
I am embarrassed to say I am so behind on my blogging...but I DO always manage to visit your blog...even if I don't have time to leave a comment.

I just love books...I think they bring a room to life...to me they make a room seem homey...and I love that! I think I would love all your books, too...I have several...but I must say...you win! I know where to go if I ever need to check out a "how to book"!

Tell Noah...Thanks from one animal lover to another...great rescue! Oh! and that sweet Ellie...she just melts my heart.

Hugs and blessings...

I recognized many of the books on your shelves as being the same ones that I have on mine. No wonder I'm so drawn to your blog!

I love finding a turtle. It's been a thrill for me for as far back in my childhood as I can remember. I've not run across any this year yet, but I did find one on a busy road last summer. I was headed across town at the time and didn't really have time to deal with it, so I just picked him (her?) up and put him in the car. I had to drive by my son's work on the way to my appointment, so I stopped off there and gave him the turtle. Knowing his tender heart toward animals and wild creatures, I knew he'd take care of it. He kept it in a box until he left work, then stopped off at some woods and deposited it safely there. ;-)

Hi Dawn,
Thanks so much for your post :-)WOW all your books are so organized!!! I dream of having my bookcases like that! I never find much time for non fiction either. A cook book, how to book or art book is the best for me!Love your visitor! We had one a few weeks ago and took him back to the creek across the road.Makes life exciting when yo never know who is going to visit!
Loved reading your blog as always!

Your book collection looks like mine. I used to have more but I began giving them to my two daughter-in-Laws and daughter. I had stacks of Country Living Mags too. I couldn't get enough of Martha Stewart, she was the one person that understood it was okay to create something from nothing, and make it shine.
What a wonderful little visiter you had, knowing me I would have named him and kept him on the farm.
Thank you Dawn, I just love what you do. Hugs, mary

Hi Dawn, I think we could run a contest on who has the most creative books and magazine. I can't get rid of one!!! If I start looking at one close to bedtime, my mind gets going with all the ideas I want to create. There goes another sleepless night.
Love that you saved the turtle and the buttons.
Hugs,
Bonnie
