An altered composition book &
a glimpse back at Victoria

These summer days are certainly whizzing by us, aren't they? Our boys have only a couple more weeks off and it's back to school for them. I remember being out for summer and it seemed like half the year to me ~ and I loved it too!

I managed to make this altered composition notebook Tuesday evening. I've used one of Gail's newest collage sheets at the Shabby Cottage Studio and just love the image. And it does help that she's a sweet little girl, too! And the little bird stamped in the lower right hand corner? From a set of stamps I bought from Gail's store too! Be sure to drop by and take a look at everything. ~ I should have it in my Etsy store really soon as well as my "Age is Just a Number" artwork. Oh and the bookmark too!

I ran across this old Victoria desk calendar the other day. Back in the day, I bought everything put out by Victoria magazine that I could get my hands on. This was one of those beautiful things I found. A day by day calendar with beautiful photos and thoughts for each day. As you see I couldn't bear to use it so it's completely in tact!

I thumbed through it to show you a few of the pages ~ I still think it's beautiful . . . Be sure to click and enlarge the photos to read these ~

Wishing you a wonderful, happy Wednesday!
xxoo, Dawn

Wonderful altered work...!
If you have all things Victoria, then you must also have the Book of Days.
Love that one, too.

I like your composition book. Very pretty. Just yesterday we were at WalMart buying school supplies. All my kids have to have composition notebooks. I wanted so bad to buy some for myself, but since I am cheap I decided to wait a few weeks and see if they go on clearance. They are only 50 cents. I'm so pitiful!

Well, there must have been something in the air over the past 24 hours because if you check my blog, you will notice that we were thinking along the same lines... only yours are lovely visuals while mine was a lovely list of words. (Thanks for steering me here, Vee.) Enchanting!

Blissfully,
Christi

I love the altered journal. You are so artistic! You are definitely my inspiration. Yours is the first blog I check everyday to see what you've done next. Thanks so much!!

I've completed another shadow box. Would you mind looking at it and telling me if I need to add something else?

Thanks a bunch!!

Love the notebook Dawn--and I, too, was a huge fan of Victoria magazine--I'm glad I kept all of mine, even though my husband wanted me to get rid of "those boxes of magazines"--because when Victoria stopped publication, I was heartbroken! I looked at the current issue of the new re-born Victoria today, but it just isn't the same to me. Have a good day!

Beautiful notebook! I love Victoria! It was something I shared with my mom. She passed on June 1, 2003... Victoria went away with her. I was so thrilled when it came back. It's not the same, but it's still beautiful and comfortable, and gives me joy. I still pick up my back issues to reread every now and then.

I love that journal!!!! It looks so good. I think you should do some more of you "age is not a number" work, or things like it!! I really really am in love with it.
Summer is just flying by, I am pretty glad, because it is so HOT here. It's a swamp in Savannah. I'm surprised I don't have gators the yard, since we seem to have everything else that goes with a swamp. Oh well, gotta love Savannah, heat and all.
I love ya'll
