Some favorite things ~

As I took Ellie out before bedtime, this is the beautiful sky I saw. It was even a little cooler ~ the moon was so trying to peek out of the spotty clouds.

The more I work on the yard sale and go through items, I tend to take the smaller items that I know I want to keep to my artroom. Well, by day's end, it had gotten pretty rough looking. I starting straightening a bit and as I finished I started putting a few small items into a grouping that are so sweet to me . . .

A pair of the most precious handmade baby booties ~

A small barkcloth lavender sachet I made ~

A most precious Christmas card that doesn't look Christmasy at all to me but I love the colors ~

A piece of tattered ruffle from what I'm not sure of but it is so old, sheer and soft ~ it's wonderful

A neat old spool with the original cotton twill tape on it with vintage millinery daisies poking out

Tiny little flowers wrapped in old lace ~

Two velveteen bunnies that I love even when it's not Easter

Always, cream and white buttons, sprinkled on a tattered, very well-loved New Testament ~

Seeing beautiful things = beautiful thoughts and

beautiful thoughts = a beautiful you

Happy Thursday dear friends,

xxoo, Dawn

Oh I want to come to the sale!! Isn't it sometimes hard to let go of the things we re-discover we have??! I found that to be true when I was re-arranging my art room - I'd make a "discovery" and think Oh Hello you! -there you are!
(giggles)
Have a great day to my fully published and soon to be a book writer of all things beautiful and vintage!!(One can hope, right?!) friend! :-)

Thanks to you, Dawn, I am looking at my tattered laces and trims with a less judgemental eye. Those items that I had set aside to toss in a few months, I've decided must be kept. They are the stuff of future treasures.

Just two more sleeps until Saturday!

Oh my, your little Ellie is absolute dear! She is beautiful!
I, too, am planning to have a yard sale in a few weeks. It's a lot of work, isn't it, but it does get the house organized.
I am having a giveaway on my blog so be sure to visit and leave a comment!

Dawn,
Ditto to all the kind words posted from other friends. It is always such a breath of sweet air to enter your little world. Love it. But let's be clear, I'm not referring to the "get ready for a garage sale" world. That's something different. And I know that you know EXACTLY what I mean. But there is even a silver lining in that world. You're almost there...keep on sorting!

Hope you have good weather and lots of eager shoppers in the mood to buy!!!

Between the tranquil music playing on your site, and the soft muted colors of your lovely photographs, I am always soothed when I come here.
