A wonderful book & new art!!

I found this amazing book earlier this week, you know, when I was keeping the road hot?? I made a trip to Hobby Lobby to pick up some supplies that I was out of and then stopped my Joann Etc. Talk about sensory overload! Both of those stores in one day about sends me reeling ~ I just love them!

I found this book a Joann's and each page is printed on card stock. You could rip them out and use them as a base for a scrapbook page. They're perforated and everything but I won't do that. It comes with a CD with each and every image on it that you can pick and print out individually. So I'll leave the pages intact to use as a reference. I took a few photos of the insides!

I created today!! This piece is built on an 11 x 14" canvas. I covered the edges with scrapbook paper and matte gel medium. Then used sheet music on the front. I had these small flat metal wall buckets so I altered one abit, sewed it to the canvas with a giant needle and hemp, and used it as pocket to stuff a little gathering of goodies in. One of my baubles from this weekend accents the top, too! It feels good to make something . . .

Thank you so much for stopping by to see me and always for taking the time to comment ~ such a gathering of friends are here in the Land of Blog!

Happy Thursday, xxoo, Dawn

Dawn, you've inspired me to try something like your canvas and to tackle my studio before it becomes unbearable. I bagged up a car full of stuff to take to the thrift store and more bags to toss. It's a start. Your blog is the only one I can't go a day without reading ... afraid I'll miss something! Keep inspiring us, my friend.

Hi Dawn!
This piece that you have created with the pocket is wonderful! I have a soft spot for birds and nests anyway, but this is really special! I love that the pocket extends out from the canvas, instead of just being flattened. Your work is really pretty!
