Un.be.lievable goodness!!!

I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. I know I sure did . . . I'm so very thankful. Two of our sons live in Savannah and they both called me ~ plus we had an amazing meal prepared by my husband Sunday evening with our other three sons. He invited his mom and dad and cousin over to eat as well. He made the most amazing chicken salad with grapes and toasted pecans served on croissants. Homemade coleslaw, a garden fresh dish of tomatoes, cucumbers and vidalia onions in a vinagrette, fresh fruit and for dessert, fresh strawberries in whipped cream! It was all so delicious.

And you remember I went to Scott's Antique Market Saturday, right? Here is my bounty and I have to tell you, I am so, so pleased with my treasures from this trip!! The map, yes, it's of Paris!!! Old watch pieces, clip-on earrings, a very old checkbook . . . Well, look below and you'll see it all. I hope you don't mind all of the photos but I just wanted to share it all with you!!

My most favorite, wonderful items are the two Mary Frances books. OMGoodness. They are divine. The sewing book has patterns for dolls!!! I've just got to make some of them!! I'll feature the inside of the book soon ~ what's so sweet is the little girl in the book learns how to sew and a little fairy helps her learn!!! You know I love that ~

Thanks so much for looking at all of these!!! I hope you have a great day today!
xxoo,
Dawn

I think you hit the jackpot again Dawn - and to think you will take all these lovely items and make them even better! You know you are my favorite artist - everything you design and make is truly exquisite.

Hope you escaped the storms - we've had very heavy rain but thankfully not the grapefruit-sized hail like in Bertie Co., NC. Can you imagine being hit by that?

That Mother's Day meal sounded delish. Glad you had a great time.
Hugs - Mary.

Oh my goodness, you found some real treasures at Scott's. I love the books and the buttons. I am a new quilter and am incorporating that into some collage work too. I have so much fun browsing through the second hand stores to see what I can find.
Thanks so much for sharing. Your ideas are so inspirational for me.
Happy creating
Karen

Can you believe it; I bought that same antique sewing book a couple of years ago and gave it to my granddaughter (who is 9 now, and she loves sewing!) It has all the original doll clothes patterns in it, too. That's real love, when you give those things to your grandchildren; hard to let go. :-)
You found some real treasures. My son is a pilot who flies to Paris often; now I know to tell him to bring me maps as well as newspapers. linda s.

Wow! Can I come shopping with you sometime?! Such wonderful treasures! I love children's books, but I am not familiar with Mary Frances. I'll have to keep my eye out for her now. Thanks for sharing all the beautiful photos!
