A little decision = following my bliss!

I loved creating this yesterday ~ A special collaged platter to give in celebration for my first year blogiversary!

A little decision can mean the difference between going through the motions and truly being happy! This past weekend I decided it was time for me to give up my room at The Plum Tree. I've always enjoyed selling antiques, owning a store of my very own and getting to know
all of the sweet customers.

But my true bliss is in creating artwork. It doesn't matter if it's collage, assembages, sewing, sculpting, whatever it is...to make something from a handful of supplies is so fulfilling to me!

So this week I told Cindy that I would give up my room at the store and become a full-time artist! She was so sweet to me and fully understands the way I feel.

You, dear friends, have had a huge part in this. In offering me encouragement, purchasing my artwork and giving me the confidence I needed to make this decision.
For that, I thank you.

To create artwork, to make beautiful things, is truly . . .

following my bliss!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Beautiful platter, I've loved that technique since I first saw it here... So, I've been searching for something like that to try it out. (I didn't want to use "my" own!) Congrats on making such a big decision and being happy and blissful about it!

Dawn,
More of us should be more aware of what we truely need in our lives to make us feel "right and complete". It sounds like you have made a right decision and I applaud you!

How wonderful, Dawn, that you have chosen to follow your bliss whole heartedly. It is such a wonderful feeling. I have never referred to myself as an artist...I would just say..'ah, I piddle.' The first time I referred to myself as a folk artist (because I had chosen to do art full time) it was such a great feeling. I felt 'full' in a way I had never felt before.

Congratulations! I wish all the best for you!

-Rebecca.
